May 27, 201610 yr Author Thanks sonykongara bro. http://www.nandamurifans.com/forum/index.php?/topic/370716-%E0%B0%95%E0%B0%B2%E0%B0%BF%E0%B0%B8%E0%B1%8A%E0%B0%9A%E0%B1%8D%E0%B0%9A%E0%B0%BF%E0%B0%A8-%E2%80%98%E0%B0%B0%E0%B1%8B%E0%B0%A8%E0%B1%81%E2%80%99-215-%E0%B0%9F%E0%B1%80%E0%B0%8E%E0%B0%82%E0%B0%B8%E0%B1%80%E0%B0%B2-%E0%B0%9A%E0%B1%87%E0%B0%B0/
May 27, 201610 yr ivvala velli vachham DEsilting estimate kosam.. if I am correct, Desilting is not an issue except for islands but they are challenging inundation area which is 10K acres. But this inundation was not originally flood area so can't be put into that category. Barrage creation also never had trouble. They increased level from bottom to gates 45feet +12(for VTPS) feet. Our CRDA guys hope knows what they are presenting to NGT. That 12 feet increase to support VTPS screwed this area otherwise water will flow smooth to sea. Also NGT recommended sabarmati model wherever possible for rivers and our guys can take that as reference.
May 27, 201610 yr This is major factor for kondaveeti vagu back flush. Till 1978 the hight is only upto +13.73M(45.05ft).In order to supply water to V.T.P.S.round the year, the pond level isconstantly maintained at +17.79M (57.ft.) With Pulichintala complete this 12 feet extra is not required and released from pulichintala on need basis. This solves the problem created in 80's and no issue. SO natuarlly it was not inundation area should be our argument in NGT.

June 1, 201610 yr Sony Bro, http://media.newindianexpress.com/Amaravati-EPS12.jpg/2015/04/05/article2748845.ece/alternates/w620/Amaravati-EPS12.jpg This photo is the merger of river, vagu and canal.Till 1980's barrage level was around 12 feet less than what it is now. They increased it to have water 365 days for VTPS. Barrage main purpose was not for storage but diversion point to 6 major canals. Naturally vagu is at higher level than River. But with barrage construction water level at the gates is high when there is flood. They lift to canal than to River is what I heard. Also with Pulichintala above us plan is to reduce the barrage level again and that also solves major problem. Overall this vagu is a boon but requires planning and they are on right track. Only issue was they delayed basic things.

June 3, 201610 yr All these days CRDA has kept local irrigation away. Irrigation knows the basics well and they got permission to do things now. At last 1) widening 2) taking off curves works got clearance Yesterday By the way there is another option for the Vagu. Right now through regulator they are merging to canal. Through PWD workshop "at land level" a wide area diversion can be put to Buckingham canal. At "Land Level" when there is flood in vagu automatically it diverts through this wide open to Buckingham canal. Canal depth is high and also this diversion is at land level so no reverse will happen. See below http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=16.496324&lon=80.600429&z=18&m=b&search=vijayawada
