Maharashtra government on Tuesday ordered withdrawal of cases against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his supporters in a bid to end the political standoff over his agitation on Babhli barrage. Naidu and his supporters were arrested at Dharmabad on Friday after they crossed over to Maharashtra on their way to inspect the Babhli barrage on Godavari river in Nanded district. Their judicial remand was on Monday extended till July 26 after they declined bail. The Home Department has faxed a letter to Nanded district collector, directing that the criminal case number 64/2010 against Naidu and others be withdrawn, sources said. The case pertains to violation of section 144 of IPC (prohibitory orders) by Naidu and his associates on the day they crossed into Maharashtra. The fax said the Dharmabad court be informed through the public prosecutor about the government's intention. Accordingly, the PP is meeting the judge, the sources said. "Maharashtra government is going to request the local court to withdraw cases against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who was arrested for violating prohibitory orders at Dharmabad in Nanded district," Home Minister R R Patil said. "We would request the court to withdraw cases against Chandrababu and he would be sent back after the court's decision," Patil told reporters in Mumbai. Naidu was booked under section 143 and 188 for unlawful assembly which would be withdrawn by the government, he said. Naidu was arrested along with five MPs and seven MLAs of his party, Patil earlier told the assembly. TDP has alleged Babhli barrage is being "illegally" built by Maharashtra. Will not go to Hyderabad sans visiting Babhli site: Naidu Naidu said he will not return to Andhra Pradesh without visiting the controversial Babhli project site, appearing defiant even as Maharashtra Government decided to revoke the charges against him. "I am not going to Hyderabad... they (Maharashtra police) are bringing us by force," Naidu said on way to Aurangabad from Dharmabad, which is nearly 200 kms apart. He claimed that the SP of Nanded in Maharashtra had informed the TDP leaders that they would be taken to Babhli site. Refuting the allegations that he was indulging in a political stunt on Babhli issue ahead of Telangana bypolls, Naidu said, "For the last five years, I am fighting on the issue. I met PM twice." He also accused Maharashtra Government of not abiding by the Supreme Court order on the Babhli irrigation project saying, "This (Babhli) is an illegal project by Maharashtra Government". Tension in Andhra Political temperatures on Tuesday escalated over the Babhli issue as Maharashtra government shifted Naidu and his supporters from Dharmabad to Aurangabad jail, triggering charges of police high-handedness. The sensitive issue saw the Congress government of Andhra Pradesh side with the opposition TDP for the first time in the matter as Chief Minister K Rosaiah denounced police action and decided to lead an all-party delegation to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Delhi on July 23. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil informed the state Assembly a decision on sending Naidu back to Andhra Pradesh would be taken by Wednesday. A day after the TDP called a state-wide bandh to protest Naidu's arrest, the former Chief Minister along with other arrested lawmakers was bundled into police vehicles and shifted to Aurangabad amid vehement protests by supporters who were baton-charged. TDP MLC Y B Rajendra Prasad, who claimed he was among those who faced police action, alleged that Naidu and others were "indiscriminately manhandled", resulting in injuries to some legislators. Naidu's shirt was torn in the melee when Maharashtra police drove the TDP chief's personal security guards away from the scene, Prasad told PTI. He alleged that Naidu's guards were chased away though the TDP chief was given special protection and the police showed no regard for the leader, who was not well after being in custody for past four days. The TDP MLA further alleged that MLC Sidda Raghavaiah, MLAs K Dayakar Reddy and Gampa Govardhan were injured in the police action, while former AP Home Minister T Devender Goud was also manhandled. Mobile phones and SIM cards of some legislators were damaged and seized, he claimed. The police action drew criticism not only from TDP leaders in Hyderabad, who termed it as "barbaric", but also Chief Minister Rosaiah. "I strongly condemn the lathi-charge on Chandrababu Naidu and others by the Maharashtra police while they were being shifted from Dharmabad this morning," Rosaiah said in a statement. While appealing for restraint on the "delicate issue" Rosaiah said, "I am leading an all-party delegation on the issue to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 23. I appeal to all political parties and people to join hands with the government in finding an amicable solution to the problem." Notwithstanding the appeal for restraint, TDP workers led by MLAs N Janardhan Reddy and P Keshav, party general secretary Varla Ramaiah and MLC D Veerbhadra Rao attempted to force their way into the Jubilee Hall where Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee was engaged in a meeting with Finance Ministers from southern states. However, the agitators, who wanted to meet Mukherjee and the CM to lodge protest over the incident, were arrested. Furious TDP student wing leaders took out a procession and burnt effigies of Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's at Punjagutta graveyard in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the BJP has sought the Central Government to intervene in the Babhli row and find a reasonable solution. "It is high time that the the Centre intervenes in the matter and calls a meeting of both Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for evolving a reasonable solution," senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu told PTI in Hyderabad. A delegation of senior TDP leaders met state governor E S L Narasimhan in the Raj Bhavan and demanded that the Maharashtra government withdraw cases against Naidu and others and express regret over the "ill-treatment" to him. The CPI and CPI-M too slammed the Maharashtra government on the issue. Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil, while denying the charge of ill-treatment of Naidu and other arrested TDP leaders, said a decision on sending them back to Andhra Pradesh will be taken in a day's time. Claiming that Naidu and his colleagues were being being looked after well, Patil deplored media reports in Andhra Pradesh about they being "ill-treated". Cutting across party lines, MLAs in Maharashtra demanded that the arrested TDP leaders be sent back to Andhra Pradesh. మూన్నాళ్లకే మరో కేసు... అప్పట్లో బాబ్లీ ఆందోళన విషయంలో మహారాష్ట్ర పోలీసులు ‘మహా’ మాయ చేశారు. చంద్రబాబు తదితరులను ఐదు రోజులు నిర్బంధంలో ఉంచి, వారిని విమానం ఎక్కించి పంపిన తర్వాత మరో కేసు నమోదు చేశారు. మొదటి కేసు 65 మందిపై నమోదుకాగా... రెండో కేసులో చంద్రబాబుతోపాటు మరో 15 మంది ముఖ్యనేతలను మాత్రమే నిందితులుగా చేర్చారు. ఇందులో ఐపీసీలోని సెక్షన్ 353, 324, 332, 336, 337, 323, 504, 506, 109, 34 ప్రయోగించారు. ప్రభుత్వ విధి నిర్వహణలో ఉన్న వారిపై దాడికి పాల్పడటం, వారి విధులను అడ్డుకోవడం, మారణాయుధాలతో దాడికి ప్రయత్నించడం... ఇలా తీవ్ర నేరారోపణలు చేశారు. ఒకే సంఘటనకు సంబంధించి పలు పరిణామాలు జరిగినప్పుడు మొదటి కోర్టు అనుమతితో కేసులో కొత్త వివరాలు, సెక్షన్లు చేర్చవచ్చు. కానీ... ధర్మాబాద్ పోలీసులు అలా చేయలేదు. కొత్తగా మరో కేసు పెట్టారు. కనీసం... ఆ సమాచారాన్ని నిందితులుగా పేర్కొన్న వారికి తెలియపరిచారా అంటే అదీ లేదు. 2013 జూలై 1న ధర్మాబాద్ కోర్టులో చార్జిషీటు దాఖలు చేశారు. 2013 ఆగస్టు 31న మొదటి విచారణ జరిగింది. విచారణకు ముందు కేసులోని నిందితులకు సమాచారం ఇవ్వడం, ఎఫ్ఐఆర్తోపాటు చార్జిషీటు ప్రతులను అందరు నిందితులకు అందించడం తప్పనిసరి. కానీ... చంద్రబాబు సహా ఎవ్వరికీ సమాచారం అందలేదు. ఈ కేసు 2013 నుంచి ఇప్పటిదాకా ధర్మాబాద్ కోర్టులో 52 ‘వాయిదా’లు పడింది. విచిత్రమేమిటంటే... ఇన్ని వాయిదాలలో మహారాష్ట్ర పోలీసులు ఒక్కసారంటే ఒక్కసారి కూడా ఈ కేసు సంగతి, విచారణ గురించి చంద్రబాబు బృందానికి తెలుపలేదు. చివరికి... చంద్రబాబు, మరో 15 మందిని అరెస్టు చేసి ఆగస్టు 16న తన ముందు హాజరుపరచాలని జడ్జి జూలై 5న ఉత్తర్వులు ఇచ్చారు. తర్వాత... హాజరు తేదీని ఈనెల 21కి మార్చారు. ఈ ఉత్తర్వు కూడా ఇంకా ఇంతవరకూ చంద్రబాబు బృందానికి అందలేదు. అంటే... ఈ కేసు విషయంపై కోర్టుకు-ధర్మాబాద్ పోలీసులకు మధ్య మాత్రమే ఉత్తర ప్రత్యుత్తరాలు నడుస్తున్నాయి. గురువారం మహారాష్ట్ర స్థానిక పత్రికలో వార్త వచ్చిన తర్వాతే ఈ సంగతి బయటి ప్రపంచానికి తెలిసింది. ‘‘చంద్రబాబు 2014 వరకూ ప్రతిపక్ష నేతగా ఉన్నారు. తర్వాత సీఎం అయ్యారు. ఆయన ఎవరో... ఎక్కడ ఉంటారో దేశంలో అందరికీ తెలుసు. ఇంతకాలం పట్టించుకోకుండా వదిలేశారు. ఇప్పుడు ఆకస్మికంగా అరెస్టు వారెంటు ఎందుకు జారీ చేశారన్నది ఆలోచించాల్సిన విషయం’ అని ప్రభుత్వ ఉన్నతాధికారి ఒకరు వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. ధర్మాబాద్కు తెలుగు మీడియా బాసర: చంద్రబాబుపై నాన్ బెయిలబుల్ వారెంట్ జారీ కావడం తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో తీవ్ర చర్చనీయాంశమైంది. అసలేం జరిగిందో తెలుసుకోవడానికి తెలుగు మీడియా ప్రతినిధులు పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో ధర్మాబాద్ చేరుకున్నారు. పోలీసు అధికారుల వద్ద వివరాలు సేకరించారు. వారెంటు వీరిపైనే... చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు, గంగుల కమలాకర్, కెఎ్సఎన్ఎస్ రాజు, చింతమనేని ప్రభాకర్, నామా నాగేశ్వర్ రావు, జి.రామానాయుడు, దేవినేని ఉమా మహేశ్వరరావు, సీహెచ్ విజయ రామారావు, ముజఫరుద్దీన్ అన్వరుద్దీన్, హనుమంతు షిండే, అబ్దుల్ ఖాన్ రసూల్ ఖాన్, ఎస్. సోంజోజు, ఏఎస్ రత్నం, పి.సత్యనారాయణ సింధు, టి.ప్రకాశ్ గౌడ్, నక్కా ఆనందబాబు. హాజరవుతారా? ఒక్క నోటీసు కూడా ఇవ్వకుండా ఏకంగా అరెస్టు వారెంటు జారీ కావడం వెనుక రాజకీయ కుట్ర ఉందని, ఒకో పావును కదుపుతున్నారన్న అభిప్రాయం కలుగుతోందని టీడీపీ ముఖ్యలు అనుమానిస్తున్నారు. ఐరాస సమావేశంలో ప్రసంగించేందుకు చంద్రబాబు 23న అమెరికా వెళ్తున్నారు. సరిగ్గా దీనికి రెండు రోజుల ముందు కోర్టులో చంద్రబాబు బృందాన్ని హాజరు పరచాలని వారెంటు జారీ కావడం.. ఆయన్ను అందులో పాల్గొనకుండా చేసేందుకేనని కొందరు టీడీపీ నేతలు ఆరోపిస్తున్నారు. తదుపరి కార్యాచరణపై చర్చ నడుస్తోంది. వారెంటు అమలు కాకుండా పైకోర్టు నుంచి ఆదేశాలు పొందవచ్చని కొందరు చెబుతుండగా, నేరుగా కోర్టుకు హాజరైతే బాబ్లీ కోసం గతంలో చేసిన పోరాటం అందరికీ మరోసారి తెలుస్తుందని మరికొందరు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు. గతంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రులు ఎవరైనా ఎప్పుడైనా ఇలాంటి కేసుల్లో కోర్టుకు హాజరయ్యారా... దాని వల్ల తర్వాతి పరిణామాలు ఎలా ఉన్నాయన్నదానిపై పార్టీ వర్గాలు సమాచారం సేకరిస్తున్నాయి.
