విశాఖలో నేపాల్‌ బృందం పర్యటన

విశాఖ: నేపాల్‌ ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి పోమ్‌ లాల్‌ సుబేదితో కూడిన ఏడుగురు సభ్యుల ఉన్నత స్థాయి బృందం రెండు రోజుల పాటు విశాఖలో పర్యటించింది. విశాఖ పోర్టు ద్వారా సరకు రవాణాకు ఉన్న అవకాశాలను, రవాణా ఖర్చులను పరిశీలించి బేరీజు వేసుకుంది. సీసీఐ, కాంకర్‌, రైల్వే, విసీటీ, పోర్టు అధికారులతో వివిధ అంశాలపై చర్చించింది. పోర్టులో ఉన్న అవకాశాలను, నేపాల్‌కి విశాఖ పోర్టు నుంచి రైలు రోడ్డు మార్గం ద్వారా చేరుకునేందుకు పట్టే సమయం వంటి అంశాలపై విసిటి ఈ ఉన్నత స్థాయి బృందానికి వివరించింది.

రైల్వే ప్రభుత్వ రంగ సంస్థ కంటైనర్‌ కార్పొరేషన్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియాలో ఉన్న సదుపాయాలను ఈ బృందం పరిశీలించింది. విశాఖ పోర్టు నుంచి రైల్వే రేక్‌ల అందుబాటు, రవాణాకు ఉన్న అవకాశాలను కూడా ఈ బృందం రైల్వే అధికారులతో సమావేశమై అంచనా వేసింది. అటు కస్టమ్స్‌ అధికారులతో సమావేశమైంది. వాణిజ్య పరంగా ఇబ్బందులు తక్షణ పరిష్కారం కోసం నేపాల్‌ కాన్సల్‌ జనరల్‌ కార్యాలయం కూడా విశాఖలో ఏర్పాటు చేయాల్సి ఉంటుందని అభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తమైంది. చైనా నుంచి నేపాల్‌కు వస్తువుల దిగుమతికి కోల్‌కతా పోర్టు ద్వారా 26 రోజులు పడుతోందని, అదే విశాఖ పోర్టు ద్వారా అయితే 22 రోజులు మాత్రమే పడుతుందని అధికారులు వారికి వివరించరారు. ఆర్థికంగా కూడా ఈ పోర్టు నుంచి రవాణా నేపాల్‌కి లాభిస్తుందని పలు అంశాలను తేల్చి చెప్పారు. ఇవాళ పోర్టు నుంచి ఒక కంటైనర్‌ను జెండా వూపి ప్రారంభించారు.

విజయవాడ, జూన్‌ 26(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): ‘పోర్టు ఆధారిత అభివృద్ధి’ మంత్రాన్ని పటిస్తున్న ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ ప్రభుత్వం... రాష్ట్రంలో ఇప్పటికే అందుబాటులో ఉన్న కార్గో సామర్థ్యాన్ని పూర్తి స్థాయిలో వినియోగించడంపై దృష్టి సారించింది. ఇందుకు ఉన్న అవరోధాలను తొలగించాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కోరింది. రైల్వే శాఖ 2011లో వెలువరించిన రూట్ల హేతుబద్ధీకరణ స్కీములో మార్పులు చేయాలని, రాష్ట్రంలోని విశాఖపట్నం, గంగవరం, కాకినాడ, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టులను రైల్వే లాజిస్టిక్స్‌ ప్రణాళికలో చేర్చాలని కోరుతూ సీఎం చంద్రబాబు... రైల్వే శాఖ మంత్రి సురేశ్‌ ప్రభుకు లేఖ రాశారు. రూట్ల హేతుబద్ధీకరణ పథకంలో చేసిన మార్పులవల్ల రాష్ట్ర పోర్టులు ట్రాఫిక్‌ను ఆకర్షించలేకపోతు న్నాయని సీఎం తన లేఖలో పేర్కొన్నారు. అప్పట్లో సరుకు నిల్వ-రవాణా సామర్థ్యం లేకపోవడంవల్ల... బొగ్గు దిగుమతి కోసం రూపొందించిన ‘లాజిస్టిక్‌ ప్రణాళిక-2011’లో ఏపీలోని పోర్టులను వదిలేసి... సుదూరంలోని పశ్చిమ తీర పోర్టులను, రూట్లను ఎంచుకున్నారన్నారు. ఫలితంగా ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్‌కు బొగ్గు దిగు మతి పశ్చిమ తీరంలో ముంబై నుంచి ముంద్రా వరకూ ఉన్న పోర్టుల ద్వారా రవాణా అవుతోందన్నారు.

 

     ‘‘పశ్చిమ తీరంలోని పోర్టుల నుంచి ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్‌లోని విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లకు దూరం 1302 నుంచి 1738 కిలోమీటర్లుండగా... తూర్పు తీరంలోని పోర్టుల నుంచి కేవలం 645 నుంచి 678 కిలోమీటర్లే. పశ్చిమ తీరం నుంచి దూరం ఎక్కువగా ఉండడం వల్ల ఏటా రూ. 80 నుంచి 120 కోట్ల వరకూ అదనపు వ్యయం అవుతోందని సదరు విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లు కేంద్ర విద్యుత శాఖకు, సీఈఏకు నివేదించాయి కూడా. మెరుగైన పోర్టు సామర్థ్యం, బొగ్గు నిల్వకు ప్రత్యేకించిన సదుపాయాలు, రైల్వే రేక్స్‌ అందుబాటు, తక్కువ దూరం ప్రయాణం తదితర సానుకూలతల దృష్ట్యా తూర్పు తీరంలోని గంగవరం, విశాఖపట్నం, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టులను ‘దిగుమతి బొగ్గు లాజిస్టిక్స్‌ ప్రణాళిక’లో చేర్చాలని రైల్వే శాఖకు సీఈఏ సిఫారసు చేసింది. ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్‌, మహారాష్ట్రలోని విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లకు వచ్చే బొగ్గును ఏపీ పోర్టుల ద్వారా రవాణా చేస్తే టన్నుకు రూ.650 చొప్పున ఆదా చేయవచ్చు. అయినా ఈ పోర్టులను చేర్చడానికి రైల్వే శాఖ అంగీకరించలేదు. రాయ్‌పూర్‌-టిట్లాగఢ్‌ ఫీడర్‌ రూటులో సామర్థ్య లేమిని కారణంగా చూపింది. ఈ పరిస్థితిని మార్చాలి’’ అని తన లేఖలో కోరారు. 

 

 

 

కృష్ణపట్నం వరం

కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు ద్వారా ప్రస్తుతం కర్ణాటక విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లకు, కర్ణాటక, తమిళనాడు స్టీల్‌ ప్లాంట్లకు, మహారాష్ట్ర సిమెంటు ప్లాంట్లకు రోడ్డు, రైలు మార్గాల ద్వారా బొగ్గు రవాణా అవుతోందని సీఎం చెప్పారు. మహారాష్ట్ర, ఛత్తీస్‌గఢ్‌లలోని థర్మల్‌ విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లకోసం ఇండోనేషియా, ఆసే్ట్రలియాల నుంచి బొగ్గు దిగుమతి చేసుకుంటున్న సంస్థలు కూడా కృష్ణపట్నం ద్వారా రవాణా చేయడానికి సుముఖంగా ఉన్నాయన్నారు. కానీ, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు రైల్వే శాఖ ’రికమండెడ్‌ పోర్టు’ల జాబితాలో లేదని, ‘ఎగ్జిజెన్సీ పోర్టు’ల జాబితాలో మాత్రమే ఉండడం వల్ల ఇక్కడి నుంచి ఆయా ప్లాట్లకు బొగ్గు రవాణాకు సమస్యగా మారిందన్నారు. ఫలితంగా గుజరాతలోని ‘దహేజ్‌’ పోర్టు ద్వారా బొగ్గు రవాణా చేయడంవల్ల విద్యుత ప్లాంట్లకు టన్నుకు రూ.650 చొప్పున అదనపు భారం పడుతోందని సీఎం వివరించారు. గతంతో పోల్చితే ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ పోర్టులలో కార్గో సామర్థ్యం పెరిగిందని, ఏడాదికి 200 మిలియన్‌ టన్నుల సామర్థ్యం ప్రస్తుతం ఏపీ పోర్టులలో ఉందని సీఎం తెలిపారు. తూర్పు తీర పోర్టులను బొగ్గు రవాణాకోసం ఉపయోగించుకోవడం అంటే... కేవలం డబ్బు ఆదా చేయడమే కాదని, రైల్వే రవాణా సదుపాయం లేక పోర్టులు ఖాళీగా ఉండే పరిస్థితిని నిరోధించవచ్చని సీఎం సూచించారు.

పోర్టులు- జాతీయ రహదారుల అనుసంధానం
 

• సాగరమాల .. భారతమాల పథకాల కింద రాష్ట్రానికి భారీగా నిధులు

హైదరాబాద్‌, ఆగస్టు 12 (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): రాష్ట్రంలో పోర్టులను జాతీయ రహదారులు, రైల్వే లైన్లతో అనుసంధానం చేయడం, సముద్రయానం కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా జెట్టీలను ఏర్పాటు చేయడం వంటి పనుల కోసం సాగర్‌మాల, భారత మాల ప్రాజెక్టుల కింద రూ.43,876 కోట్ల రూపాయలను ఖర్చుచేయనున్నారు. ఇందుకు సంబంధించి రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వ ప్రతిపాదనల కేంద్రం సానుకూలంగా స్పందించింది. రాష్ట్రంలో పోర్టులను జాతీయ రహదారులతో అనుసంధానించడం, రైల్వే లైన్లను పోర్టులవరకు పొడగించడం... వంటి పథకాలు, సముద్రయానానికి సంబంధించి జెట్టీల నిర్మాణం వంటి అంశాలపై ఇంధన , పెట్టుబడులు, మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు, సీఆర్‌డీఏ కార్యదర్శి అజయ్‌జైన్‌ ఒక నివేదికను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి అందించారు. భారతమాల కింద జాతీయ రహదారుల కోసం 12 పథకాలకు కలపి 26726 కోట్ల రూపాయలను కేటాయించడంతో పాటు పోర్టులతో జాతీయ రహదారుల అనుసంధానానికి సంబంధించిన నాలుగు ప్రాజెక్టులపై 10,650 కోట్ల రూపాయలు వ్యయం చేసేందుకు కేంద్రం ముందుకు వచ్చింది. పోర్టులకు రైల్వే లైన్ల అనుసంధానం కోసం రూ.6500 కోట్లను ఇచ్చేందుకు ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. మొత్తంగా 43,876 కోట్ల రూపాయలను వ్యయం చేసేందుకు ముందుకు వచ్చింది. కేంద్రం ఆమోదించిన ప్రాజెక్టులు...

• కాకినాడలో..... యాంకరేజ్‌ నుంచి ఉప్పాడ బీచ్‌ వరకూ నాలుగు వరుసల రహదారి నిర్మాణం. కోస్టల్‌ ఫుడ్‌ ఎక్స్‌పోర్టు బెర్త్‌ అభివృద్ధి, బర్మా షెల్‌ ప్రాంతం నుంచి శక్తి గ్యాస్‌ సెక్యూరిటీ గేట్‌ వరకూ బీటీ రోడ్‌ సీసీ రోడ్‌గా మార్పు
• మచిలీపట్నం నుంచి 7.2 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర జాతీయ రహదారి 65ను కలుపుతూ రోడ్‌ నిర్మాణం,
• కృష్ణపట్నం నుంచి నాయుడుపేట వరకూ గ్రీన్‌ఫీల్డ్‌ రోడ్‌. బల్లారి నుంచి కృష్ణపట్నం వరకూ జాతీయ రహదారి విస్తరణ. కృష్ణ పట్నం నుంచి గూడూరు వరకూ రైల్వే లైన్‌ నిర్మాణం.

విశాఖపట్నం, అమరావతి, ఆగస్టు 18(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి):సాగరమాల ప్రాజెక్టును రూ.12లక్షల కోట్లతో చేపడుతున్నామని, ఇందులో భాగంగా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశలోని పోర్టులకు రూ.8,400 కోట్లు కేటాయించామని కేంద్ర రోడ్లు, ఉపరితల రవాణా, నౌకాయాన శాఖల మంత్రి నితిన గడ్కరీ చెప్పారు. రెండు రోజుల పర్యటనకు గురువారం విశాఖపట్నం వచ్చిన ఆయన పోర్టును సందర్శించి, పలు ప్రాజెక్టులను ప్రారంభించారు. అనంతరం విలేఖరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడారు. సాగరమాలలో రూ.4లక్షల కోట్లను కేవలం రోడ్లు, రైలు మార్గాల అభివృద్ధికే కేటాయించామన్నారు. మిగిలిన రూ.8 లక్షల కోట్లతో 27 పారిశ్రామిక ప్రాంతాలను అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామన్నారు. పోర్టులు దేశ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థకు కీలకమని, వాటి అభివృద్ధికి అత్యంత ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తున్నామని ఆయన వివరించారు. ఎన్నడూ లేనంతగా గతేడాది పోర్టు, నౌకాయాన రంగం ద్వారా రూ.6వేల కోట్ల లాభాలు ఆర్జించామన్నారు. ప్రపంచమంతా అస్తవ్యస్త ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితులున్నా విశాఖపట్నం పోర్టు కార్గో హ్యాండ్లింగ్‌ 13 శాతం వృద్ధి నమోదు చేసిందని ప్రశంసించారు. సాగరమాల ప్రాజెక్టులో భాగంగా కాకినాడలోని ఎల్‌ఎనజీ టెర్మినల్‌కు రూ.3వేల కోట్లు, విశాఖపట్నంలో అదనపు ఆయిల్‌ జెట్టీకి రూ.100 కోట్లు, స్టాకింగ్‌ యార్డుకు రూ.150 కోట్లు, వాడరేవు, మచిలీపట్నంలలో కొత్త పోర్టుల అభివృద్ధికి రూ.5 వేల కోట్లు, కాకినాడలో పెట్రో కెమికల్‌ కారిడార్‌ క్లస్టర్‌కు రూ.420 కోట్లు కేటాయించామన్నారు. ఇనల్యాండ్‌ వాటర్‌ వేస్‌ను అభివృద్ధి చేయడానికీ అధిక ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తున్నామని మంత్రి చెప్పారు. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశలో బకింగ్‌హమ్‌ కాలువ పనులు మూడు నెలల్లో ప్రారంభిస్తామని, దీనికి ఎంత వ్యయం అవుతుందనే అంశాలపై సమగ్ర ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదిక తయారవుతోందన్నారు. 

 

జల రహదారిపై త్వరలో ఎస్పీవీ!

జాతీయ జల రహదారుల(ఎన్‌డబ్ల్యూ) అభివృద్ధి కోసం ఓ వైపు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయం తీసుకోగా, అమరావతి నగర నిర్మాణ సంకల్పం నేపథ్యంలో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఎన్‌డబ్ల్యూ-4పై అత్యంత ఆసక్తిని చూపుతోంది. కాకినాడ నుంచి పుదుచ్ఛేరి వరకూ కాలువలపై 767 కిలోమీటర్ల మార్గాన్ని, గోదావరి నదిపై భద్రాచలం నుంచి రాజమండ్రి వరకూ ఉన్న 171 కిలోమీటర్ల మార్గాన్ని, కృష్ణానదిపై నల్లగొండ జిల్లాలోని వజీరాబాద్‌ నుంచి విజయవాడ వరకూ ఉన్న 157 కిలోమీటర్ల మార్గాన్ని కలిపి ఎన్‌డబ్ల్యు-4గా నిర్ణయించారు. ఈ మొత్తం 1095 కిలోమీటర్ల మార్గంలో 888 కిలోమీటర్లు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోనే ఉండటంతో ఈ విషయంలో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కంటే రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఎక్కువ ఆసక్తి చూపిస్తోంది. రాజధాని అమరావతి నిర్మాణానికి సమాంతరంగా కృష్ణానదిపై ముక్త్యాలనుంచి విజయవాడ వరకు తొలి దశలో జల రహదారి నిర్మాణానికి రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిశ్చయించింది. ఎన్‌డబ్ల్యూ-4 అభివృద్ధి కోసం కేంద్ర-రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాల మధ్య స్పెషల్‌ పర్పస్‌ వెహికిల్‌(ఎ్‌సపీవీ) ఏర్పాటుకు రంగం సిద్ధమవుతోంది. ఈ విషయమై రాష్ట్ర పభుత్వం కొన్ని రోజుల క్రితమే కేంద్రానికి ప్రతిపాదనలు పంపింది. గత ఏప్రిల్‌లో ముంబైలో జరిగిన ‘మారిటైమ్‌ ఇండియా సదస్సు’లోనే గడ్కరీ, చంద్రబాబు మధ్య చర్చలు జరిగాయి. ఎస్‌పీవీ ఏర్పాటుకు అప్పుడే నిర్ణయం జరిగింది. ఇందులో 51ు రాష్ట్రవాటా, 49ు కేంద్రం వాటా ఉండాలని ఏకాభిప్రాయానికి వచ్చారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో శుక్రవారం విశాఖలో రోడ్డు భద్రత సదస్సు సందర్భంగా గడ్కరీతో చంద్రబాబు విడిగా సమావేశమై.. ఓ నివేదిక అందించనున్నారు.

నెల్లూరు: కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు నుంచి చైనాకు సరుకు రవాణా చేస్తున్నట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. నెలకు నాలుగు విడతలుగా కంటైనర్‌ ద్వారా సరుకు రవాణా చేస్తామని పోర్టు ప్రతినిధులు చెప్పారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు ప్రతినిధులు ప్రారంభించారు.

Krishnapatnam Port today said it has launched a weekly mainline service, to be operated by Maersk Line in partnership with Hanjin Shipping of Korea, from China to Krishnapatnam Port.

The facility will provide the fastest and most competitive service to the exporters and importers of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Northern Tamil Nadu to the ports of China, Far East Asia and South East Asia, a press release stated.

The current transit time for bulk cargo like furniture, office and hotel interiors which take 40-45 days to reach the consignee will be straightway halved with the launch of the new service through Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal, it said.

The weekly mainline service was inaugurated by Franck Dedenis, MD, Maersk Line, along with Anil Yendluri, Director and CEO, Krishnapatnam Port.

Yendluri said Andhra Pradesh, Bengaluru and Hyderabad attract a huge volume of container cargo from China and that Krishnapatnam Port, owing to its strategic location and being a new age port, is an ideal gateway for such shipments.

“Suppliers in China are keen to use our port as a gateway for their current shipments as it is well poised to provide a very compelling and cost efficient route for the traders based on the Southern periphery of the country,” Yendluri said.

The service has been commenced in response to a strong representation from exporters of cotton, minerals, chilies, granite etc. to eastern destinations, with the service calls directed at the ports of Shanghai, Qingdao, Nansha, Xingagang, Busan and Singapore, according to the release.

Krishnapatnam Port to get two new terminals soon

NELLORE: The Krishnapatnam Port will soon have a Ro-Ro Terminal, liquid bulk terminal, bunkering, rig repairing and offshore facilities, its managing director Chintha Sasidhar has said.

Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (independent charge), Jitendra Singh, attended Swachhandhra Pradesh programme and skill development programmes organised at the Krishnapatnam port on Sunday.

On the occasion, Chintha Sasidhar said that two new terminals, bunkering, rig repairing and offshore facilities will play a catalytic role in bringing industrial revolution in the region, by becoming the gateway for exports, imports and supporting associated companies and zones such as SEZs, logistic parks and  thermal power plants etc.

Later, Jitendra Singh inaugurated tailoring, welding and few self-employment programmes for the benefit of the local youth. He also launched innovative process at the port, under the Ease of Doing Business (EDB) initiative, named as e-VMS (e-Visitor Management System). The new e-VMS will ensure a safe and hassle-free entry process for the visitors to the port.

Through this, all delegates and visitors can be rest assured to be given visitor permits in a jiffy, as all the required information like the identity proofs and the purpose of the visits would be stored in the database of the system, thus making the port easily accessible.

కృష్ణపట్నం రేవులో, బొగ్గు, ముడి ఇనుము, ఎరువులు, ఖనిజాలు, వ్యవసాయ ఉత్పత్తులు, వంట నూనెలు వంటి అనేక రకాల కమొడిటీలు, ప్రాజెక్ట్‌ కార్గ్గో, కంటైనర్‌ కార్గో ఎగుమతి దిగుమతులకు అవసరమైన అన్ని రకాల మౌలిక సౌకర్యాలున్నాయి. ప్రస్తుతం నాగ్‌పూర్‌ నుంచి జరుగుతున్న ఎగుమతులు వేరే మార్గంలో జరుగుతున్నాయనీ, దీనివల్ల ధన వ్యయం, కాల వ్యయంతో పాటు అనుకున్న పరిమాణంలో ఎగుమతులు చేయలేకపోతున్నారని కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు వర్గాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. చైనాతో సహా వివిధ ప్రాంతాల నుంచి నాగ్‌పూర్‌తో సహా విదర్భ ప్రాంతానికి వచ్చే దిగుమతులు కూడా వ్యయప్రయాసల కోర్చి రవాణా చేయాల్సి వస్తోందని ఆ వర్గాలు తెలిపాయి. కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టు ద్వారా అనాయాసంగా, తక్కువ సమయం, ఖర్చుతో ఎగుమతి దిగుమతులు నిర్వహించుకునే వెసులుబాటు లభిస్తుందని చెప్పాయి.

Snowman Logistics Ltd will set up a new facility at the Gateway Distriparks Logistics Park in Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) with a capacity of 3,500 pallets of temperature controlled and dry warehousing. This facility can be further scaled up to 10,000 pallets in a phased manner within the next two years.
 
The location is 7 km from Krishnapatnam port, which currently services the requirements of southern and central Andhra Pradesh such as the newly developed Sri City industrial region, eastern Karnataka, northern Tamil Nadu and eastern Maharashtra. Furthermore, combined with its existing Chennai, Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam facilities, Snowman will be in a position to fully cater both Tamil Nadu and Andhra markets as its locations are close to each market and near all the major ports in the area - Krishnapatnam, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, Kattupalli and Ennore. “This will place Snowman with the Gateway Distriparks CFS in a unique position to be able to offer a bundled solution to the export-import (Exim) trade through the CFS and temperature controlled storage and distribution facilities,” said Snowman Logistics in a BSE filing today.
 
The facility, scheduled to become operational by March 2017, will cater to the Exim trade including seafood, meat, dairy products, pharmaceutical products, fruits and fruit pulp. Snowman’s current capacity is 98,500 pallets which will go up to 103,000 pallets once the Cochin warehouse, currently under construction, is operational in the next quarter.
 
With the addition of the Krishnapatnam facility, Snowman’s total capacity will reach 106,500 pallets in this financial year.

Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL), ​the largest Pan-​I​ndia Container Freight Station (CFS) operator​,​ has ​now ​commenced construction of ​its ​Logistics Park ​at ​Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh after receiving all necessary state government approvals.​

 

Targeting the trade in the Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Karnataka region, the Logistics Park will offer comprehensive supply chain solutions through a CFS, general warehousing and reefer/cold storage services​ along with transportation facilities.

 

Keeping in view the fast paced development of industry in the region, Prem Kishan Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GDL said, "The Company is keen on commencing operations and has planned for the first phase of general warehousing and reefer and cold store to be ready by September 2016,​and the CFS to be operational by end of December 2016.​​"

 

GDL is already present at Nhava Sheva, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Kochi. ​​The CFS at Krishnapatnam port, which is strategically located between Chennai and Visakhapatnam ports, will be GDL's 7th CFS.  The Logistics Park will be the first of its kind at Krishnapatnam Port ​and drawing on its experience as a market leader in the industry, GDL has planned the 48 acre area with world class infrastructure tailored to the trade's requirements and state-of-the-art technology to maximize efficiency once operations commence.​ ​​​The total capex of this project will be to the tune of Rs. 150 crores, with Rs. 80 crores utilised towards cost of land and construction of the first phase, and the balance Rs. 70 crores for the second phase.

 

Gupta said, "The container logistics sector in India has been growing with new ports developing clean cargo and container terminals. This Logistics Park will be our second offering to the EXIM trade of Andhra and Telangana, and will be developed with the same high standards that the trade has come to expect of Gateway's facilities. Centre clears proposal with an outlay of Rs.123 crore

Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman has promised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to support financially the plans to strengthen cold storage and warehousing infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh finalised with a total outlay of Rs.123 crore.

Confirming this, AP State Warehousing Corporation Chairman L.V.S.R.K. Prasad told The Hindu on Friday that as part of the project modern warehousing, processing and cold storage facilities would come up at Visakhapatnam and Bhimavaram.

APSWC has already acquired 12 acres from Visakhapatnam Port Trust for developing the facility. This would help the fisheries sector immensely for getting a remunerative price for their products, Mr. Prasad said.

Of the Rs.123-crore plan, the Centre would give Rs.44 crore, a matching grant by the State and Nabard will release Rs.30 crore. The remaining amount will be borne by APSWC. Mr. Prasad said once amount was released, they would also spend part of it on Spice Park at Yedlapudi (Guntur) in an area of 24.8 acres for storage of mirchi and turmeric cold storage. He said the State government due to visionary leadership of the Chief Minister was firm on improving warehousing and cold storage infrastructure all over the State to ensure better price for farmers on real-time basis by using latest available technologie

Maersk Lines to launch monthly service on October 29

 

 

With focus on containerisation on the East Coast, Maersk Line, global container division and biggest operating division of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group is all set to launch scheduled service from Kakinada to the transhipment port of Colombo.

Maersk Line, one of the largest container vessels and part of Danish business conglomerate, will be launching its monthly service from Kakinada on October 29, sources in the port industry told The Hindu .

 

Maersk Lines are at present being operated from Kolkata-Haldia, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Tuticorin ports. J.M. Baxi Group is now developing container facility at Paradip port.

Visakha Container Terminal Private Ltd (VCTPL), a BOT operator of Visakhapatnam Port Trust with a permissible draft of 16.5 metres has been handling one of the largest Maersk Liners - m.v. Sebarok with overall length of 318 metres carrying 6,000 containers.

VCTPL, developed jointly by Dubai Port World and J.M. Baxi Group in 2003 has the capacity to handle Emma Maersk carrying 15,000 containers. The terminal is now under expansion with an investment of Rs.633 crore to increase the capacity by 0.54 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).

 

Maersk Line India has been transhipping containers from Kakinada on an experimental basis for past few months since launching of containers at Kakinada Container Terminal (KCT). Following increase in containers to transport cargoes like rice, sugar, paper, chemicals and vegetable oil, Maersk Line India is launching scheduled service from October 29.

KCT had launched commercial operations with transhipment to Colombo and Singapore from November 15, 2015 with the deployment of feeder service by Orient Express Lines. KCT is a joint venture of Bothra Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd, Kakinada Infrastructure Holding Pvt. Ltd Chennai Investments Pvt. Ltd.

 

KCT achieved a milestone in August with the sailing of the Maersk Line vessel mv KERSTIN S voy 1602 carrying 800 TEUs, the largest parcel size till date. The extra loader was arranged by Maersk for the carriage of this parcel, sailed directly to the destination within two days.

Maersk called into Kakinada in March connecting Colombo and onwards connectivity to West Africa and South Africa.

Managing Director of Maersk (India and Sri Lanka) Franck Dedenis said: “Our feeder service out of Kakinada is a continuation of our belief to be closer to our customers and grow with the market in a profitable manner. This is our commitment to only give customers control of their cargo.”

Bro, There are different channels of revenue for state. For some ports we have revenue share in the port as per agreement.

For some we have yearly installement charges plus revenue share.

 

On top state jas share in Cargo charges. On some state gets direct revenue(ex:-gold(ofcourse not much through ports) and some special mines pay customs and state gets it direct)
