Prithvi Shaw fits the bill here. your second opener should be leftie or a right handed who can play with confidence. Subhman Gill or Ishan Kishan comes into scene here. He failed in the below scenarios as coach 1. clearly, Rohit-Rahul combo is not giving us quick runs in power play. Atleast he could have forced to try Pant as opener in the match before semis. Pant could have played freely in power play and also right left combo would have added extra bonus for us. 2. in the semis, when we are down on runs, and spinners are operating, After Rohit is out, he could have sent Pant in the middle and he could have played with freedom against the spinners. Couple of sixes could have changed the scenario. You have 2 lefties in your side and you didn’t use them when spinners are choking us in middle overs 3. didn’t open with spinner when England came to bat. No surprise strategies in this tournament! Some of them suggested spinner strategy for 2-3 overs and just 1 over for quick if SKY is in strike.
