In intel chips.. processor series that ends with 'H' are generally more powerfull towards professional level and that ends with 'U' are for gernal purpose entry level processors in the same I3, I5, I7 category..

I5 with series ending H is powerfull than I7 that ends with U. It can handle more than expected in terms of running heavy programming applications.

Above deal is good, only downside is memory soldered and capped at 16GB. Otherwise one hell of a machine for the price. Recently there was a deal on X13 thinkpad ryzen 5850u with 32 GB for 970$. I ordered that but only downside is 4+months ship time. If you are on the budget look for Thinkbook 14/15 G3 AMD options. Use perks at work to further lower the price at lenovo. Only downside with the budget option is the screen is not  that great but definitely more value per dollar for the build quality. I bought one for my cousin in India. Build quality of the Thinkbook's is good.

intel processor ending with H can match AMD performance but drawing more power. So though performance is similar its better to prefer AMD which achieves the benchmarks drawing less power. As per me only reason to chose an Intel over AMD is stock availability or Thunderbolt and other features like more display options etc which AMD is limited currently.

1165 G7 competes with 5850U

1180H competes with 5800H (though very close we also have 5900HX that decimates 11800H for similar price).

See the Max TDP among them.

For normal work purposes stick with 5850U which gives optimal performance at lower TDP (more battery) very comparable to 11800H. Intel basically lost it last couple of years. Also AMD laptops are always 150-200$ cheaper when all other things being equal.
