i used dell, hp laptop. dell laptop lasted for 5 years. my current hp laptop  completed 7 years, its processor i7 4510u . its hdd giving some irritating noise and it have battery back up half an hour. 

i use laptop  for programming, video streaming. i dont play games in laptop .  integrated graphics serve my purpose. 

i have some doubts  whether amd works without any issues in our hot humid indian climate.

Amd should be good given its low TDP. look at thinkpads, you will find a good one for 750 or so. It will go a long way. I'm still using my thinkpad t530 bought for 2012 thanksgiving. My use case is similar to yours. I have added ram, upgraded with ssds, replaced keyboards, battery over the years. If not for the heft i would have used it for a little longer. Its i7-3rd gen quad core cpu. Currently handles mutiple (10+) docker containers that are run 24x7 as part if my media server. Im a liitle partial to thinkapds based on this experience.
