I don’t think there is anything like that, given we get migrants data only during census which last happened 10 yrs back so no body has real data. Inka ee year jaragalsina census so far ela aaparo thelisindhe.

But centre has authority to restrict interstate movement which they did during initial lockdowns where they restricted movement except essential ommodities. Later they relaxed it on April 30 to allow migrants and others. All states were supposed to designate nodal authorities and develop standard protocols for receiving and sending stranded people. But in a large country like ours you know what happens if gate opens, recent example wine shops. Given the huge migrant population and lack of data thereof it is difficult to gauge the impact. Ofcourse not to mention our resources to deal with. It is the people not present in JAM trinity that suffer the most. Anyway now govt. agreed to cover people outside the system but this in itself is a challenge to identify and provide benefit.

There is! The inter state migration falls under the responsibility of center. Denying that at first place means, either brutal ignorance or irresponsibility from Center.

1979 act undhi uncle.... in case of pandemics and emergency situation it is central govt’s responsibility to foresee the interstate migration. State govt’s responsibility is to foresee that labor laws are not violated in their state.

Adhi workman act regd. rights at local level, nothing to do with movement between states. No state is implementing it properly, one of the reasons they were blindsided by no. of migrant workers

During gulf war, Indian PM V P Singh sent 400+ Indian air lines flights to air lift Indians in Kuwait. They airlifted more than a lakh people.  Back then our economic position is too bleak!

come 2020, we don’t even think about migrant labor transport! This is the development we achieved.

anyways, below is what we are telling. The difference between “true leader” and “feku leader”

lol TDP ke biased aa and BJP ki kaadha aa sarle 😆

Cheppa ga eyana gulikalu asala adigevadu ledhu vaagutha pothadu 1.7 lakh overseas ni ikkada situation ela compare chesthadu ee pichi prof., ikkada scale enti even there it took 60+ days for them to evacuate in Kuwait. Edavataniki kavali point.  Accept reality of Indian poor and our resources. 1200 trains with 300 train takeoffs every day is what is currently trying to get executed. Still considering anywhere between 2-4cr migrants that plan to travel it will take 3-4 weeks, and obviously many can’t wait. Govt. has passed direction to all states to stop people from travelling on roads and give them shelter until transport is available let’s see how this pans out.

1 week lo ayye pani kadhu, even now it will take 2-3 weeks minimum, the scale is bigger than everyone thought as well as lockdown extension. Majority migrants travelling from Maharashtra where the rate is 11% so expect the crisis to explode in other parts soon with migrant carriers.

When the king has the intentions, things will fall in place sooner than later. First of all we should accept that the intention is not there.

Eppudu chesina  3-4 weeks process, the priority then was to contain the spread and it was successfull. After Tablighi situation got out of hand and everyone realized it’s a long fight, that’s when they relaxed movement for 3rd lockdown.

Initially migrants were supposed to stay in the same place to avoid spread. Govt did provide direction, Meetings lo jarigindhi ground level lo entha implement avuthundhi anedhi varies kadha as we have seen now. Kejri might say we will take care don’t worry and dump migrants at border which UP had to ferry with 10k buses or be inactive like Udhav, at least kcr was vocal in reassuring.  Health is a state subject, with central govt chipping in where needed via schemes like ayushman bharat etc. That being said all levels of govt. should have been more proactive, to alleviate this situation. Central govt. did provide rations to state govts but wonder how many migrants are there in the JAM trinity system, which has been life saviour for the poor. It was getting difficult for state govts to manage as the lockdowns extended and that’s when they decided to send migrants back. But before that itself some migrants started by foot. It’s unfortunate, given our population these are challenges we face.

Madras HC reacted like this, this is a suo motu
