Raju Nine teams from 12 countries reach Amaravati The F1H2O power boat race buzz is growing louder 48 hours ahead of the world championship set to make a splash in River Krishna in Amaravati here. Nine teams comprising 19 Formula 1 drivers and nine Formula 4 drivers from 12 countries have arrived besides 21 large containers carrying 10 Formula 1 boats and 10 Formula 4 boats, from the Krishnapatnam port. These boats have been imported from China. The sight of the team of adrenaline junkies (Boat drivers and other crew members) moving around the Punnami ghat on the banks of the river and the diminutive high-speed catamarans that will fly across water to enter hairpin turns at a lightning speed, is raising the excitement levels. The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), organiser of the F1H2O, a multiple Grand Prix series of eight events taking place in Europe and Asia this year, has included Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, in this year’s racing series. The Grand Prix is the world’s foremost international series of single-seater inshore circuit powerboat racing. The race being the first international water sport being hosted by Andhra Pradesh, a great deal of significance is associated with it. The adrenaline-pumping battle will feature teams from Amaravati (India), along with seven major cities from Portugal, the U.K., France, Italy, China and the UAE. “The global sporting event is making a comeback to India after a gap of 14 years. The last Indian edition was held in Mumbai in 2004. We want to make the best of this opportunity to put Amaravati on the global map of water sports,” says Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture. Officials of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA), which is playing key role along with India Xtreme Adventure Activities, a local firm, has cleared the race site. The ground has been levelled and asphalted for creation of the paddock area for the racing teams to hold their discussions. “It’s about time such sporting events came to countries like India, as there is adequate infrastructure here for people to engage in all kinds of extreme adventure,” says Marco Pietrini, Director, Logistics, F1H2O World Championship. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will flag off the event on Friday (November 16) afternoon, leaving the space open for the racers to practice their manoeuvres. Jonas Andersson and Erik Edin, drivers from Sweden, will represent Team Amaravati. “I can sense the high expectations of people from my team and I can’t wait to take the waves in my stride,” says Mr. Jonas. The Tourism wing is setting up viewing galleries near the Punnami Ghat and the Prakasam Barrage will be closed during the three-day event, turning it into a makeshift viewpoint. Amaravati is hosting the fifth edition of the F1H2O championship that began in Portugal on May 18 and will end in Sharjah on December 15. “The race will be held in a circuit stretch of 2.7 km and arrangements have been made to allow the racers to practice in the river on the first day,” said Himanshu Shukla, CEO, APTA. sonykongara Posted November 15, 2018 Author Share Posted November 15, 2018 అమరావతిని తొలి మూడు స్థానాల్లో నిలుపుతా ఎఫ్1హెచ్2ఓ ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్షిప్లో అమరావతి బోట్ ప్రధాన డ్రైవర్గా స్వీడన్కు చెందిన రేసర్ జోనస్ అండర్సన్ పాల్గొంటున్నారు. పోటీలపై ఆయన ‘ఈనాడు’తో ప్రత్యేకంగా మాట్లాడారు. చాలా ఖర్చుతో కూడుకుంది25 ఏళ్ల వయసులో 1998లో పవర్బోట్ రేస్లోకొచ్చా. మా నాన్న కూడా రేసర్. ఆ ప్రభావం నాపై ఉంది. ఈ రేస్ చాలా ఖర్చుతో కూడుకుంది. మొదట్లో నిలదొక్కుకునేందుకు ఆర్థికంగా చాలా ఇబ్బందులు పడాల్సి వచ్చింది. స్నేహితుల సాయంతో ఫార్ములా-2 రేస్లో కొంతకాలం పోటీల్లో పాల్గొని రెండుసార్లు ఛాంపియన్షిప్ సాధించా. ఆ తర్వాత స్పాన్సర్లు రావడంతో ఆర్థికంగా మద్దతు లభించింది. చైనా పోటీల్లో నాలుగో స్థానం2006లో ఫార్ములా-1కి మారాను. ఇప్పటివరకూ 18 ఛాంపియన్షిప్ పోటీల్లో పాల్గొన్నా. ప్రస్తుత సిరీస్లో ఇటీవల చైనాలో జరిగిన పోటీల్లో అమరావతి బోట్ డ్రైవర్గా నాలుగో స్థానంలో నిలిచా. ఇప్పుడు విజయవాడలో తొలి మూడు స్థానాల్లో నిలిచేందుకు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నా. తొలిసారి భారతదేశానికి వచ్చా. అమరావతి బోట్ డ్రైవర్గా అమరావతికి రావడం సంతోషంగా ఉంది. ఈ ప్రాంతం పవర్బోట్ రేస్కి అనుకూలంగా ఉంది. sonykongara Posted November 15, 2018 Author Share Posted November 15, 2018 జల క్రీడలకు రాష్ట్రం వేదికఆకట్టుకునేలా ఎఫ్1హెచ్2వో రేస్ నిర్వహించాలిదీనిపై అన్ని వర్గాలనుంచి అభిప్రాయాలను సేకరించాలిఅధికారులు, క్రీడాకారులతో ముఖ్యమంత్రి భేటీ ఈనాడు, అమరావతి: ‘జల క్రీడలకు రాష్ట్రం వేదికవ్వాలి. జల క్రీడాంధ్రప్రదేశ్గా దేశవిదేశీ పర్యాటకులను విశేషంగా ఆకట్టుకోవాలి. ఆ దిశగా చర్యలు వేగవంతం చేయాల’ని ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబునాయుడు పర్యాటక శాఖ అధికారులకు సూచించారు. ‘అమరావతిని కాలువల నగరంగా తీర్చిదిద్దుతున్నాం. అమరావతి అందానికి వన్నె తెచ్చేలా కృష్ణాపై మరో రెండు బ్యారేజీలను నిర్మించనున్నాం. ఇవన్నీ జలక్రీడలకు అద్భుతంగా ఉపయోగపడతాయి. ఈ అవకాశాన్ని పర్యాటక శాఖ సద్వినియోగం చేసుకోవాల’ని సూచించారు. శుక్రవారం నుంచి విజయవాడలో ఎఫ్1హెచ్2వో పవర్బోట్ ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్షిప్ పోటీలు ప్రారంభం కానున్నందున పర్యాటక శాఖతోపాటు ఏర్పాట్లలో భాగస్వాములైన అన్ని శాఖల అధికారులు, పోటీల్లో పాల్గొనేందుకు వచ్చిన విదేశీ రేసింగ్ క్రీడాకారులతోనూ ముఖ్యమంత్రి బుధవారం సమావేశమయ్యారు. వెలగపూడిలోని సచివాలయంలో జరిగిన ఈ భేటీలో రేస్ ఏర్పాట్లు, నిర్వహణ గురించి అధికారులు సీఎంకు వివరించారు. విదేశీ క్రీడాకారులు వారి దేశాల జాతీయ పతాకాలను చేతపట్టుకుని వచ్చారు. ముఖ్యమంత్రికి గౌరవ వందనం చేశారు. అధికారులకు సీఎం సూచనలు* విదేశీ పర్యాటకులను అమితంగా ఆకట్టుకునేలా రేస్ నిర్వహించాలి.* మంత్రులు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు పోటీల సమయంలో మాత్రమే వచ్చి చూసి వెళ్లిపోకుండా అక్కడే ఎక్కువసేపు ఉండేలా వారితో కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించండి.* ప్రధానంగా రేస్ నిర్వహణపై పోటీల్లో పాల్గొన్న రేసర్లు, బృందాల ప్రతినిధులు, వీక్షకులు, నాయకులు, అధికారులు ఇలా అన్ని వర్గాల అభిప్రాయాలను సేకరించాలి.* ఫ్లయింగ్ బోట్స్, ఆక్వాబైక్స్ పోటీలు వంటివి నిర్వహించాలి. ఎఫ్1హెచ్2వో పోటీలకు అనుబంధంగా..పవర్ బోట్ రేస్ సమయంలో వచ్చేవారికి ఆహ్లాదాన్ని పంచేలా 16నుంచి 18వరకూ విశ్వ సంగీత- నృత్య ఉత్సవం, ఆంధ్రా రుచులను పంచుతూ ఆహోరోత్సవం, శాఖలవారీగా ప్రత్యేకతలను చాటే అంశాలతో కూడిన స్టాళ్ల ఏర్పాటు, పున్నమిఘాట్ వద్దే ప్రత్యేకంగా ఏర్పాటుచేసిన వేదికలో పర్యాటకంతోపాటు వివిధ రంగాలపై ప్యానల్ డిస్కషన్లు, ఆయా అంశాలపై ప్రజంటేషన్లు ఉంటాయి.* దుర్గాఘాట్, బరంపార్క్, ప్రకాశం బ్యారేజీ ప్రాంతాల్లో సాధారణ ప్రేక్షకులు సుమారు 50వేల మంది కూర్చుని చూసేలా ఏర్పాట్లు. ఐదు వేలమంది వీఐపీలకు సీటింగ్, సంగీత నృత్య ఉత్సవం వేదిక ముందు 5500మంది కూర్చునేలా ఏర్పాట్లు.* పోటీల్లో పాల్గొనేందుకు వచ్చిన వివిధ దేశాల రేసింగ్ క్రీడాకారులు, బృందాల గౌరవార్థం పోటీల చివరిరోజు 18న రాత్రి గాలా డిన్నర్ ఏర్పాటుచేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు.
