The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a notification to all the madrassas across the state ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. As per the document, the madrassas have been instructed to hoist the national flag and pay tribute to martyrs. Additionally, all madrasas have been told to make certain that the students sing the national anthem and conduct programs on August 15th. All madrasas have also been told to get the Independence Day celebration filmed for proof.

UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad directs all Madarsas in the state to unfurl national flag and recite national anthem on August 15

The circular asks the minority welfare officers to direct all madrasas to ensure that Independence Day is celebrated following the guidelines. As per the circular issued by U.P. government, they are expected to hoist national flag, recite the National Anthem and pay their tribute to our freedom fighters and martyrs. Furthermore, the madrassas are expected to highlight the importance of Independence Day, by narrating stories and be told about the history of August 15. Schools have also been asked to carry out cultural or sports events along the wider theme of national unity, distribute sweets and film the entire event.

A major controversy has erupted as clerics oppose the circular. Clerics add that the madrassas actively celebrate the Independence Day and won't undergo Patriot test for the government’s sake.

GORAKHPUR: In a horrifying incident, as many as 30 children died due to alleged disruption in oxygen supply at Baba Raghav Das Medical College and Hospital (BRD Hospital) here within a span of 48 hours since Thursday. It is a specialty hospital frequented by many in the region that is prone to cases of Encephalitis.

Hospital sources said the agency responsible for the supply of oxygen stopped it last night, leading to the death of around 20 children on Thursday, at least 12 of whom were suffering from Encephalitis. Ten more deaths were reported on Friday evening.

The hospital has a special ward for patients of Encephalitis. The incident comes barely two days after the visit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the hospital to review its functioning.

It is learnt that the supply shut down on Thursday night resulting in the death of 20 children. It was then that the hospital woke up to the emergency and managed to get the supply going once again. However, on Thursday, the supply was disrupted again leading to more deaths.

The hospital has, however, denied 'shortage of oxygen' as the cause of deaths and said the deaths were due to Encephalitis.

Akhil, see the first line of the thread. Clearly mentioned that circular sent to only Madarsaas. That's why I raised my concern.

Paper reported as such that by specifically quoting all institutions under minority commission. Other govt institutions also get it as usual... this news is framed in a way to make ppl like u think that the govt is biased towards madarsas.. try to understand...

Mana feelings and emotions pakkana petti, as per Constitution, madarsas ki emaina exemptions unda flag hoist vishayam lo???

elanti ecemption Ledhu.. they hav to follow govt norms as they r taking govt funds. But previous govts were cowards to even ask them to hoist a flag because they will lose votes. Now that they were asked to follow procedure, it is an evil hindu govt. Because saluting/bowing to a flag is against their religion.
