Poor Advance Bookings For 250 Crore Biggie

Fighter

Scheduled for release on January 25, the film “Fighter,” featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, is anticipated to generate approximately ₹85 lahks in gross revenue on its opening day, fueled by pre-sales following the commencement of ticket bookings.

In three major national multiplex chains, namely PVR, INOX, and CINEPOLIS, the pre-sale figures for “Fighter” did not show significant momentum on Saturday.

A modest 21,000 tickets were sold across these chains, with PVRInox accounting for 16,500 tickets and Cinepolis for 3,500. The bookings are near Adipurush’s advance bookings which sold 23,000 tickets 4 days before its release.

The response to the film’s pre-sale has been lukewarm, falling short of expectations given the star power and the directorial prowess of Siddharth Anand, whose previous film “Pathaan” was an all-time blockbuster, amassing 1050 crores worldwide.

The lackluster performance in pre-sales is attributed to the film’s poor music and a trailer that received a mixed response, criticized by some for its jingoistic tone. However, a segment of the audience, drawn to hyper-nationalism, has given thumbs up for the “Fighter” trailer.

Initially projected as a potential 50 crore opener, comparable to Bollywood hits like “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Animal,” the film’s current outlook suggests that the trade will be happy if it manages to surpass the Rs. 30 crore mark.

The film is made on a huge budget of 250 crores and it will need a long and bountiful run to emerge as a success.
