He suffered from a recurring groin injury in Eng and these type of injuries need good rest so that they don’t come back.  They just want Ashwin to dish on the Windies side and increase his wickets tally ? or  they are are not concerned about his availability with full match fitness in Australia as you may not play 2 spinners in all matches and you have a plan of giving Jadeja a full series overseas ? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ashwin pulled up his groin in 3rd test. In Australia where the grounds are bigger, you will be running as a fielder or batsman.
