Husker Posted August 4, 2016 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Cisco chosen as partner for AP’s Fiber Grid Project Cisco Systems Inc. will partner the Government of Andhra Pradesh for laying 22,500 km broadband network in Andhra Pradesh after the completion of Fiber Grid project. An MoU has been sifned with Cisco to this effect. For this purpose, Cisco will set up an Internet of Everything (IoE) innovation centre in Visakhapatnam. “The company will also invest in an advanced Technology Centre of Excellence and Research Lab at the Institute of Digital Technology (IDT) in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The research lab will focus on cyber security, smart city and manufacturing solutions and will train graduate engineers in advanced digital technologies,” CBN mentioned on his facebook account. “With the Fiber Grid rollout, Andhra Pradesh becomes the first Indian state to bring broadband to all the households. sonykongara Posted August 11, 2016 Author Share Posted August 11, 2016 నెలాఖరులోగా విశాఖకు ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ ‘తూర్పు’ గ్రామం మోరికి కూడా సేవలు వాణిజ్య వర్గాలకు రూ.999 (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి/విశాఖపట్నం): ఇంటర్నెట్‌, ఫోన్‌, టీవీ... మూడు రకాల సేవలు అందించడానికి ఫైబర్‌గ్రిడ్‌ సంస్థ సన్నద్ధమైంది. తొలి దశలో రాష్ట్రంలో తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లా మోరి గ్రామంతోపాటు విశాఖలోని మురళీనగర్‌లో ఫైబర్‌ నెట్‌ సేవలు అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నాయి. ఇందుకోసం మొదటి విడత మురళీనగర్‌లో 500 గృహాలను గుర్తించారు. దీనికి సంబంధించి అధికారులు ఇప్పటికే కొంతమేర కసరత్తు పూర్తి చేశారు. గృహాలకు రూ.149లకు, వాణిజ్య అవసరాల కోసం రూ.999కు మూడు రకాల సేవలు అందించాలని ప్రభు త్వం నిర్ణయించింది. ఇప్పటివరకు ఈ రెండు ప్యాకేజీలే ఖరారు చేశారు. గృహావసరాలకు 16 ఎంబీపీఎస్‌, వాణిజ్య అవసరాలకు 100 ఎంబీపీఎస్‌ సామర్థ్యంతో ఇంటర్నెట్‌ సేవలు అందుతాయి. విశాఖ నగరంలో అన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో ఫైబర్‌ లైన్ల ఏర్పాటు పూర్తి చేశారు. నగరంలో ఆయా ప్రాంతాల్లో కేబుల్‌ ఆపరేటర్ల నుంచి గృహాలకు ఇప్పటికే టీవీ ప్రసారాలు అందుతున్నాయి. ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ ద్వారా మూడు రకాల సేవలు అందిస్తారు. ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ సేవలు అందాలంటే రెండు రకాల సెటాప్‌ బాక్స్‌లు అవసరం. నెట్‌, ఫోన్‌కు ఒకటి, టీవీ కోసం మరొకటి ఏర్పాటు చేసుకోవాలి. అయితే ఒకేసారి లక్షల సంఖ్యలో బాక్స్‌లు సరఫరా చేయడం సాధ్యం కాదని గుర్తించిన ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ అధికారులు...బాక్స్‌లు వచ్చిన మేరకు సౌకర్యం కల్పించనున్నారు. రెండు బాక్స్‌లు కలిపి రూ.4,200 లుగా నిర్ణయించారు. గృహావసరాలకు ఈ రెండు బాక్స్‌లు కావాలి. అదే వాణిజ్య అవసరాలకు నెట్‌, ఫోన్‌ సరిపోతున్నందున రూ.3,600 చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇప్పటి వరకు ఫైబర్‌గ్రిడ్‌ అధికారులు కొనుగోలు చేసిన బాక్స్‌లలో కొన్నింటికి మోరి, విశాఖలోని మురళీనగర్‌ వాసులకు సరఫరా చేయనున్నారు. మోరీ, మురళీనగర్‌లో ఒకేరోజు కాకుండా రెండు, మూడు రోజుల తేడాలో ఫైబర్‌ సేవలు అందిస్తామని సంబంధిత వర్గాలు వెల్లడించాయి. ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌లో అధికారులంతా ప్రస్తుతం కృష్ణా పుష్కరాల విధుల్లో నిమగ్నమై ఉన్నారు. విజయవాడ పరిసరాల్లో 1500 సీసీ కెమెరాలు ఏర్పాటు చేస్తున్నారు. శ్రీశైలం నుంచి విజయవాడ వరకు సీసీ కెమెరాల ఏర్పాటు బాధ్యత ఫైబర్‌నెట్‌ అధికారులకు అప్పగించడంతో గృహావసరాల సేవల విషయంలో స్వల్పజాప్యం జరిగింది. కాగా ఈ నెలాఖరులోగా మురళీనగర్‌లో సేవలు ప్రారంభించనున్నామని సంబంధిత వర్గాలు వెల్లడించాయి. sonykongara Posted November 15, 2016 Author Share Posted November 15, 2016 Andhra Pradesh to buy 1 million set-top boxes for households Govt is likely to recover the cost of these set-top boxes from the beneficiaries later Photo: Shutterstock Andhra Pradesh government will buy one million set-top boxes to facilitate the households to use three-in-one broad band services being offered through the government-funded AP Fibrenet project across the state. The state cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to extend the government's guarantee to a Rs 300 crore loan to be availed from banks by the AP State Fibernet Limited towards purchase of these 1 million set-top boxes in the first phase. The government is likely to recover the cost of these set-top boxes from the beneficiaries later. Last year AP government had announced that it would provide television, telephone and internet services to each of the 13 million households for a charge of Rs 150 per month under under this project. It had set up a fiber-optic cable network across the state using the existing electricity distribution network by spending little over Rs 300 crore, for this purpose. AP State Fibernet Limited has recently provided the broadband connectivity to a village in East Godavari district on a pilot basis. The government's nodal agency has also singed MoUs with various service providers, including the telecom companies, to allow its network to offer their services.
