వారం రోజుల్లోగా గోదావరి-పెన్నా అనుసంధానానికి సంబంధించి టెండర్లు పిలుస్తామని మంత్రి దేవినేని ఉమామహేశ్వరరావు చెప్పారు. విజయవాడలోని ఆయన కార్యాలయం వద్ద గురువారం ప్రపంచ జల సంరక్షణ దినోత్సవం ఘనంగా జరిగింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా జరిగిన సదస్సులో మంత్రి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొని మాట్లాడారు. గోదావరి- పెన్నా అనుసంధానం చేసి భవిష్యత్తు తరాలకు నీటి కొరత లేకుండా చూడడమే లక్ష్యంగా ముందుకు వెళుతున్నామన్నారు.   పోలవరం ప్రాజెక్టు సందర్శనకు 13 జిల్లాల నుంచి బస్సుల్లో రైతులను, ప్రజలను తీసుకొచ్చి జరుగుతున్న పనులపై చైతన్యం కల్పించాలని అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు. భావి తరాలకు ఉపయోగపడే విధంగా చిన్ననీటి వనరులపై దృష్టి సారించాల్సిన అవసరాన్ని మంత్రి గుర్తు చేశారు. 116 రోజులు జరిగే జలసంరక్షణ పనులకు ప్రజలు, నీటి సంఘాల సభ్యులు, రైతు సంఘాలు ఉద్యమంలాగా కదిలి రావాలని పిలుపు నిచ్చారు. వచ్చే ఏడాది లోగా తెలుగుగంగ కాలువ పనులు పూర్తి చేస్తామని మంత్రి అన్నారు. అనంతపురం జిల్లాలోని 1000 చెరువులకు వచ్చే ఏడాదిలోగా నీళ్లు ఇస్తామని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

- It travels entirely 244 km 100% in T and can transfer 165TMC to Sagar+NSP Left canal+Tailpond(25 Meters lift to fill Sagar in case we dcided to fill Sagar also)
 
With this it would have guaranteed Krishna water to below T projects without leaving any water down Srisailum.
 
Kalwakurthi lift irrigation Scheme, Srisailam left bank canal, Dindi lift irrigation scheme, Palamuru lift canal, Nettampadu lift, Bhima lift, etc located in Telangana with 100% water dependability for all the projects drawing water from the Krishna river
