It’s actually good to spend on marriage or any other events. It promotes consumerism and helps money flow in the society. Many locals ( vanta vaallu, shamiyana shops, lights, band melam, daily coolies) get employment.

One must be simply watchful of their wallet while deciding their budget. That’s all 😎

Issue is, it always becomes 2x budget.. it becomes emotional spend once you start and money flows like river

in good old days special events like wedding are gatherings, blessings and subtle hospitality..

now it is like production of a grand event.. showbizz like a pop star live show in the town..

1. if you spend on assets like jewellery, the clothes should also carry the ornaments well

2. then event grandness to match up to the people wearing them

3. if going this far.. then content production and food also has to stay outstanding

there is no limit to it.. one will be sucked into it

Yeah..Self restraint is definitely warranted.
end of the day .. money wheel has to rotate in our society . Typically, Indian mentality is to save. At least these events will spin the wheel.

for rich people yes, thats the only way they actually get money out.  For middle class they should watch out, living in rented place and spending 20-30 lakhs on marraige is pure madness.  (just my thought)
