Nfan from 1982 Posted January 18 Share Posted January 18 Notes after watching twice: The greatest asset of #Hanuman is director Prasanth Varma’s ability to narrate a simple story in a leaner way like a Chandamama katha with no flashbacks and no screenplay gimmicks. It formed a good foundation. Super hero aspect and Hanuman divinity added layers to it and glorified movie watching experience. World building is done in an excellent way. Anjanadri is like a magical world with a big statue of Lord Hanuman at a river bank looking over the village. The shot of approaching towards Hanuman statue through river is also magical and you will never get tired of watching that shot again and again. The shot in which bullets holes forms the silhouette of Lord Ram with the hero standing in front of it is excellent. And the immediate shot of showing the hero, Lord Rama and Statue of Lord Anjaneya together one standing back of another is magical. Shots like these need a great commercial sense/visualisation from the director. Hanuman statue plays an important role and has a lot of key scenes and the climax takes place in front of it. Hero Teja Sajja’s conviction and ability to transform himself into the character is excellent. You see the character, not the actor.
