So I will go with Shankar. After what I saw him in 5th ODI. I would for sure invest on him. You need as many alrounders in the damn squad. That will give the captain with lot of options. sskmaestro
MSD/DK/Jadeja/Kedar/Pandya/Shankar if you have this bunch in your squad, you will be a complete ODI unit on any pitch.

Dhoni, DK, Rayudu, Pant, KL.... what’s common between them? All are expertises in two departments which is batting and keeping. And all are potential candidates to be picked in the squad.  We already have Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli as pure batsman. And Chahal, Kuldeep, Shami, Bumra and Bhuvi as pure bowlers. Which makes 8 players out of 15 men squad as one dimensional.  > 50% of the squad if one dimensional.  Ideally speaking we have to fill the rest with multi dimensional cricketers. DK, MSD and Rayudu are gonna make it in the final 15. So you are left with 4 positions. It’s better to fill these 4 positions with alrounders. I would pick Kedar, Jadeja, Pandya and Shankar  balance of side tho paatu balance of the squad is also important.
chanu@ntrfan
When:Â New Zealand vs India, 1st T20I, Feb 06, 08:00 PM local time, 12:30 PM ISTWhere:Â Westpac Stadium, WellingtonWhat to expect:Â At the Westpac stadium, pacers have generally found swing. It can be encapsulated by Tim Southee's success (eight scalps at 13.77 in T20Is) at the stadium. Teams have preferred to chase, evidenced by eight out of nine captains who won the toss in T20Is at the stadium, electing to field.
