In 1991, the Narasimha Rao govt approved 10% reservation for poorer (economically backward) upper castes, but Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional and rejected this quota. (Mandal case,1992) #Fact

Is this true?

Jayalalitha got Tamil Nadu Act of 1993 included in 9th Schedule with help of PV Narsimha Rao. Supreme Court in interim allowed State of Tamil Nadu to satisfy Backward Classes Commission with quantifiable data to justify exceeding reservation to 69%.

This time modi govt doing sub categorization of obc in states so it won't be rejected, already rohini commission working on this

You need wide discussions to lay down the rules strictly else common man will suffer....

8 lakhs per annum antunnaru....

1. Majority of our country’s income is private sector driven and agrarian based. How are you deciding the private sector income? Those private jobs and incomes are not permanent....

2. Private sector lo most of the metro cities and second tier cities lo 8 lakhs per annum anedi chala average income.... (based on the location 8 lakhs per annum will not award you same quality of life) so ah bracket lo undi.... real middle class kinda bratike valla notlo matti kodataara? (Ex : 8 lakhs per annum in Vizag compared to 8 lakhs per annum in Mumbai, both are not eligible for this quota)

inequalities ni penchi poshinchey plan idhi if it is improperly designed....

8 lacks ante monthly 60k+ income, veelu peda vallu ela avutharu abba????

Metro cities lo 8 lakhs is nothing bro..... you will see lakhs of people living a real middle class life with 8 lakhs gross income in metro cities.....

ayinaa private income ni ela lekkestaru? It is not a life time salary like govt job....

lets say I work for 4 years on 8 lakhs salary and later I couldn’t get 8 lakhs per annum due to my age or dip in my technical expertise.... will my children be penalized due to the fact that I had 8 lakhs income when they are kids? (Hawked by rule)

Lets take the other way around.... I work for 8 lakhs per annum and suddenly I quit the job and wantedly work for 7 lakhs per annum so that my kids can enjoy reservation benefits (hacking the rule)

will 1 day discussion sufficient to have a healthy and broader discussions on this subject?

Not that easy bro

There are two problems from supreme court

1. reservation should not more than 50%

2.Economic backwardness Criteria for giving reservation

Based on these two grounds ebc reservation  is rejected by sc in  Indira sawhani case or famous mandal case

Even if they put in 9th schedule,

In recent judgements sc said that 9th schedule also subject to judicial review.

In TN only sc,st and BC getting reservations not OC or EBC.
