buying and storing cash crops is not always profitable. one of my relatives got burned big time couple of years in black gram business. mind you black gram does not need much maintenance in storage. Mirchi and other crops need lot of manintenance (temperature controllerd cold storage ...etc).

antha kharchu petti cold storage lo dachukunna, rate vastundanna guarantee ledu, more over lot of farmers can not afford to not sell immediately after harvest (loans and interest issue). ee weakness ne cash chesukontaru hoarders. even they lose money sometimes.

Thanks for bringing in other side of the coin bro.... for farmers it may not be feasible, but for govt? On a large scale? Every year edo oka subcidy rupam lo iche kanna long term solution undatam better kadaa?

Atleast kavulu raitulu register ayyi untaru kadaa.... vallaki vartinche laga govt can buy that goods, and supply through fair price depots or sell them where ever there is need... it can be just a pilot project.... end of the day a section of farmers (small scale) and a section of middle class will be benefited ....

One thing that was mentioned in Jagga's manifesto is Rates standardization fund. It was projected as an alternative by Jagga to Runa Mafee. This is a very good idea but farmers artham cheskuni demand cheyali govt ni..maku ika medata runa mafee lu vaddu ..maku ee fund kavali 20,000 crores tho pettandi ani..until then runa mafee lu free fertilizer le rajyam elatay

That fund will only satisfy the farmers, then what about common man's anger on price hikes of commodities?

If our govt can handle both of them with a set of rules together, it will be a land mark scheme.

agree, I like price standardization or some kind of govt. buying than loan waivers. as Katti bro mentioned, even 20k fund would not last more than a year if govt has to buy entire harvest. But I think govt. does not have to buy the entire produce to make a difference. buying some part of it say 25% at set price, would create demand and private buyers will be forced to follow suit. if govt. can not sell it in open market later, they can use ration shops to distribute it to BPL families at purchased price/some loss.

in addition to partial buying, govt. should build more cold storage facilities on its own or provide subsidies to private investors who buids them and farmers who want to use them.

even after all the well published dangers of Mangos ripening with chinese carbide packets, vast majority of farmers/exporters in Nunna are still using them as there are not many gas chambers available for safer ripening. MH has highest number of gas ripening chambers and getting premium price for their mangos.

Thanks bro! Atleast you understood positively.... my intention was what you said. Govt has all the details of clusters and hectares regd land. They also have the details of small scale farmers. If they buy a part of produce and sell them officially at raitu bazaars and fair price depots.... it will benefit frames and end consumer alike!

"Chandranna tofa" lantivi avasaram ledu.... something like this which will benefit both farmer and consumer alike will be the real "chandranna kaanuka "
