State constitutes JWG with Russian firm

The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Joint Working Group (JWG) with the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) of Russia for implementing the MoU that was signed by the USC, Sun Group and Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (AP-EDB) for the construction of a shipbuilding facility in Visakhapatnam. A GO to this effect was issued by Principal Secretary (energy and infrastructure and investment) Ajay Jain on Friday. The president of USC had proposed to set up the shipbuilding facility and the MoU was exchanged in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Russian President Vladimir Putin during the BRICS Summit at Goa.

Andhra Pradesh will be represented in the JWG by Mr. Ajay Jain, AP-EDB CEO J. Krishna Kishore, Secretary (industries) Solomon Arokiya Raj, Director of Industries Kartikeya Misra, Director of Ports, V. Prasanna Venkatesh and EDB senior consultant K. Bhaskar. The Secretary of Industries Department, APIIC MD and Director of Ports are vested with the responsibility to coordinate with the JWG.

Isha Vidhya to extend support to 3,000 govt. schools in Chittoor

 

Aim is to improve quality of education

 

Isha Vidhya, the rural education outreach initiative of Isha Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Department of Education, Andhra Pradesh, to extend support to 3,000 government schools in Chittoor district to improve the quality of education.

 

This is an extension and expansion of the ongoing two-year pilot project implemented successfully by Isha Vidhya in 428 government schools in Kuppam constituency to support them in enhancing the quality of education.

 

These initiatives are aimed at improving quality of education in 905 upper primary and high schools and 2095 primary schools thereby impacting 1.53 lakh students and 14,500 teachers.

 

Workbooks

 

The program envisages implementation of remedial program for classes 3rd to 7th, including provision of workbooks and provision of teacher manuals and intensive training/ongoing hand-holding for the Government teachers.

Implementation of Magic English program for students of classes 6th to 8th in 905 high schools and upper primary schools besides distribution of study materials, audio-visual equipment and training and follow up.

 

Classroom workshops

 

The project also includes Happy Classroom workshops for all primary school teachers and remedial/magic English workshops for teachers in upper primary schools and high schools.

Isha Vidhya, the rural educational outreach initiative of Isha Foundation, launched a pilot project in Kuppam in 2015 with a commitment to raise the level of education and literacy in rural areas and help disadvantaged children realise their full potential.

 

The project seeks to ensure quality education for rural children in order to create equal opportunities for all. Isha Vidhya is actively involved in the government schools of Kuppam, Santhipuram, Gudipalli and Ramakuppam mandals in addition to 56 rural government schools in Tamil Nadu, benefiting over 34,000 students in that State.

అమరావతి, మార్చి 13(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): చిత్తూరు జిల్లా వరదయ్యపాలెం మండలంలోని చిన్నపందూరులో రూ.4025 కోట్లతో మూడు దశలో స్థాపించే అపోలో టైర్ల ప్లాంట్‌కు ప్రోత్సాహకంగా భారీ నజరానాను అందజేస్తూ రాష్ట్ర పరిశ్రమల శాఖ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఈ మేరకు పరిశ్రమల శాఖ కార్యదర్శి సాల్మన్‌ అరోకియారాజ్‌ ఉత్తర్వు జారీ చేశారు. ప్రత్యక్షంగా 1400 మందికి ఉపాధిని కల్పించే ఈ పరిశ్రమకు 100 శాతం వ్యాట్‌, సీఎస్ టీ, ఎస్‌జీఎస్ టీ రాయితీ 20 ఏళ్లపాటు కొనసాగుతుంది. ఏడేళ్లపాటు యూనిట్‌కు రూపాయి చొప్పున విద్యుత్ రాయితీ కూడా ఇస్తారు. ప్రతి రోజూ 100 కేఎల్‌ నీటిని జల వనరుల శాఖ సరఫరా చేస్తుంది. రూ.2.2 కోట్లతో అప్రోచ్‌ రోడ్డు నిర్మిస్తారు. రూ.4 కోట్లతో రెండు 132 కేవీ విద్యుత సబ్‌ స్టేషన్‌ను ఏర్పాటు చేస్తారు. ఉద్యోగులకు హౌస్‌ ట్రైనింగ్‌ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌ను రూ.2 కోట్లతో ఏర్పాటు చేస్తారు. రోజంతా నిరంతరాయంగా విద్యుత సరఫరా జరుగుతుంది.

నెల్లూరు జిల్లా మాంబట్టు ఇండస్ట్రియల్‌ పార్కులో సోలార్‌ సెల్‌ మాన్యుఫ్యాక్చరింగ్‌ యూనిట్‌ని స్థాపించే ఎలక్ట్రోనా ఎనర్జీకి కూడా నజరాలను ఇస్తూ పరిశ్రమల శాఖ నిర్ణయించింది. ఎలక్ట్రోనా రూ.3970 కోట్లను పెట్టుబడి పెట్టనుంది. 250- 500 మెగావాట్ల వరకూ తయారు చేసే మాడ్యూల్స్‌ కోసం యూనిట్‌కు రూపాయి చొప్పున, 500-1 జిగావాట్‌ సెల్స్‌ తయారుచేస్తే యూనిట్‌కు రూ.1.25 చొప్పున, ఒక గిగావాట్‌ కంటే అధికంగా మాడ్యూల్స్‌ తయారు చేస్తే యూనిట్‌కు రూ.1.50 చొప్పున 5 ఏళ్లపాటు విద్యుత రాయితీ ఇస్తారు. రూ.1500 కోట్ల వరకు స్వచ్ఛభారత ప్రోత్సాహకం కింద రూ.50 కోట్ల వరకు, మరో రూ.1500 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడి వరకు స్వచ్ఛ ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌కు రూ.50 కోట్ల వరకు ప్రోత్సాహకం ఉంటుంది. స్టాంప్‌ డ్యూటీలో 100 శాతం రాయితీ ఉంటుంది. రూ.5 కోట్ల వరకు క్యాపిటల్‌ సబ్సిడీ ఉంటుంది. వ్యాట్‌, సీఎస్ టీ, వ్యాట్‌ 10 ఏళ్లపాటు 100 శాతం రాయితీ ఉంటుంది. ఇదే విధంగా విశాఖ అచ్యుతాపురంలో నెలకొల్పే రిషిల్‌ డెకార్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌కూ ప్రోత్సాహకాలు ఇస్తూ పరిశ్రమల శాఖ ఉత్తర్వు జారీ చేసింది.

 

‘వీరా’కు వీరతాడు
అనంతపురం జిల్లా గుడిపల్లిలో రూ.600 కోట్లతో 7000 మందికి ప్రత్యక్షంగా ఉపాధిని కల్పించే వీరా వాహన ఉద్యోగ్‌ ప్రైవేట్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌(వీవీయూపీఎల్‌)కు ప్రోత్సాహకాన్ని అందించేందుకు పరిశ్రమల శాఖ నిర్ణయించింది. ఈ మేరకు సోమవారం ఉత్తర్వు జారీ చేశారు. రెండు దశల్లో వీరా బస్సు బాడీలను తయారు చేస్తుంది. దీనికి 120 ఎకరాలను ప్రభుత్వం కేటాయించింది. ఏడేళ్లపాటు 100 వ్యాట్‌/సీఎస్ టీ/ఎస్ జీఎస్ టీ రాయితీని ఇస్తామని ప్రకటించింది. ఏడేళ్లపాటు విద్యుతకు యూనిట్‌పై రూపాయి రాయితీ ఇస్తారు.

రాయలసీమకు భారీ పరిశ్రమ రానుంది. ఒక పక్క కరవు పై సమరం చేస్తూనే, పరిశ్రమలతో కూడా రాయలసీమ అభివృద్ధి చెయ్యటానికి ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబు ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారు. కరవు జిల్లా అనంతపురానికి భారీ పరిశ్రమ రానుంది. బస్సుల తయారీలో సుప్రసిద్ధ వీరా వాహన ఉద్యోగ్ ప్రైవేటు లిమిటెడ్ సంస్థ గుడుపల్లి వద్ద 120 ఎకరాల విస్తీర్ణంలో రూ.600 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడితో బస్సుల తయారీ యూనిట్ ను రెండు దశల్లో నెలకొల్పడానికి ముందుకు వచ్చింది.

వీరా వాహన ఉద్యోగ్ ప్రైవేటు లిమిటెడ్ సంస్థ ఇప్పటి వరకు కోచ్‌ బస్సుల తయారీలో ఉన్న, ఇపుడు కొత్తగా టర్మాక్‌ కోచ్‌ బస్సుల తయారీకి సిద్ధమైంది. ఎయిర్‌పోర్టుల్లో ప్రయాణికుల్ని విమానాల వరకు తీసుకెళ్లేందుకు ఈ బస్సుల్ని ఉపయోగిస్తారు. ప్రస్తుతం మన దేశం వీటిని పూర్తిగా దిగుమతి చేసుకుంటోంది.

Rasna sets up first south plant in Chittoor dist

 

In a move aimed at boosting its presence in south India, Ahmedabad-based soft drink concentrate maker Rasna has set up its 10th manufacturing facility at Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.

The plant, which has been set up in joint venture with a local player and became operational over a month ago, has been set up at an investment of around Rs 60 crore and will not just cater to the domestic market but also exports in the future, Rasna chairman and managing director Piruz Khambatta told TOI.
The Chittoor plant has a capacity to make 1 billion glasses of Rasna's new fruit-based powder concentrate offering -- Rasna Insta - as well as fruit squash.
Incidentally, this facility is Rasna's sole production plant down south and also the only Rasna plant to produce fruit squashes.
"Over the next three to four months we are looking at the plant catering only to the domestic market. After that we may also look at exporting to Far East, South East Asia and the Middle East markets from the plant," Khambatta said. Pointing to the reasons for zeroing in on Chittoor, Khambatta said: "The whole idea was to have a plant in the South markets as we did not have one and Chittoor was the best bet as it is close to Bengaluru and Chennai. It is also a good location for exports. Another major factor that played a role in swinging the decision in favour of AP is that the AP government is offering some of the best sops in the country."

Nittsu Logistics inaugurates warehouse in Sri City

 

Nittsu Logistics (India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Co Ltd, has inaugurated its warehouse in Sri City.

Yasunori Takahashi, Managing Executive Officer, Regional General Manager of Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania, along with Seiji Baba, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, commissioned the warehouse.

Takahashi, in a statement said, while increasing their presence in India, they are aggressively developing business in South India.

He said Sri City serves as an all-weather cross dock centre for various local manufacturing and engineering industries and those located around Chennai.

Seiji Baba said more Japanese manufacturing companies were preferring to set up business in Andhra Pradesh. Nittsu's establishment in Sri City was timely.

The warehouse, built on a 26-acre land parcel in less than nine months, has a built-up area of 20,094 sq. m.

The company plans to expand it with an investment of Rs. 50 crore. This unit is Nittsu Logistics' sixth business location in India.

Nippon Express（India) is a subsidiary of the Tokyo-based Nippon Express Co Ltd. Nittsu Logistics (India) specialises in 'just-in-time' logistics. Established in 2011, Nittsu Logistics is being positioned as a specialist in domestic logistics.

New Delhi: Homegrown beverage company Manpasand Beverages is investing Rs 150 crore to set up a new manufacturing facility in Sri City in order to cater to the demands of southern markets and to take advantage of the cola ban in Tamil Nadu, the company said in a statement. The company will set up three more manufacturing facilities in Vadodara, Varanasi and one more location in east India which will help the beverage maker to double its production capacity in coming 12-18 months.

“As a part of our growth strategy, since last year we have been working on a plan for foray into southern markets. We are glad that our efforts have finally fructified through our presence in Tamil Nadu. It is an important market for us and we hope that through Tamil Nadu we will gain visibility for our products, especially Fruits up, in all key southern markets,” said Dhirendra Singh, chairman and MD of Manpasand Beverages.

According to Singh, the current situation in Tamil Nadu has benefited the company as they are the only fruit juice manufacturing company with adequate capacity to cater to the vast market of the southern state.

"We have fast-tracked the construction work for our new manufacturing unit at Sri City and are confident to meet the demands of the consumers in the peak months of summer and thereafter," Singh said.

In January, the trade body in Tamil Nadu, said it would campaign intensively to wean retailers away from selling soft drinks from cola majors Pepsico and Coca-Cola as they believed consumers in the state would do well without these brands, which they allege “contain harmful chemicals and strain water resources in the state”. It had set a deadline of March 1 to achieve total boycott in Tamil Nadu.

హిందూపురం : హెరిటేజ్‌ ఫుడ్స్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌ కంపెనీ అనంతపురం జిల్లా హిందూపురం మండలంలో దాణా తయారీ ప్లాంట్‌ ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. తూమకుంట పారిశ్రామికవాడ సమీపంలోని గోళ్లాపురం వద్ద ఏర్పాటు చేసిన ఈ పశు దాణా తయారీ కేంద్రాన్ని కంపెనీ వైస్‌ చైర్‌పర్సన్‌, మేనేజింగ్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌ నారా భువనేశ్వరి ప్రారంభించారు. రూ.41 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడితో హెరిటేజ్‌ ఫుడ్స్‌ ఈ దాణా తయారీ ప్లాంట్‌ ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. ఈ ప్లాంట్‌ ద్వారా 150-200 మందికి ప్రత్యక్షంగా, పరోక్షంగా ఉపాధి లభిస్తుంది. ఈ సందర్భంగా తిమ్మక్క అనే మహిళకు భువనేశ్వరి రూ.2 లక్షల చెక్కు అందజేశారు. అదే విధంగా హెరిటేజ్‌ రైతులకు ఉచితంగా దాణా పంపిణీ చేశారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ : విజయవాడ, చెన్నై నగరాల సమీపంలో మల్టీ మోడల్‌ లాజిస్టిక్‌ పార్కులు ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం భావిస్తోంది. ఆయా రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలూ ఇందుకోసం చొరవ తీసుకుంటున్నట్టు కేంద్ర రోడ్డు రవాణా, రహదారుల శాఖ మంత్రి నితిన్‌ గడ్కరీ ఈ విషయం వెల్లడించారు. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా వచ్చే ఐదేళ్లలో 15, పదేళ్లలో మరో 20 లాజిస్టిక్‌ పార్కులు ఏర్పా టు చేయాలని భావిస్తున్నట్టు చెప్పారు. ఈ పార్కుల్లో ఆధునిక గిడ్డంగి సదుపాయాలు, వాల్యూయాడెడ్‌ సేవలు, వివిధ ప్రాంతాలకు సరుకులు రవాణా చేసేందుకు అన్ని రకాల రవాణా సదుపాయాలు అందుబాటులో ఉంటాయన్నారు. ఈ పార్కుల ఏర్పాటుకు అవసరమైన భూమిని రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు లేదా ప్రైవేట్‌ వ్యక్తుల నుంచి సేకరిస్తామని చెప్పారు. మన దేశంలో సరుకుల రవాణా వ్యయం తగ్గాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం వస్తువుల ఖర్చుల్లో 14 శాతం రవాణా చార్జీలకే పోతోందన్నారు. ప్రభుత్వం తలపెట్టిన మల్టీ మోడల్‌ లాజిస్టిక్‌ హబ్స్‌లో ఎయిర్‌పోర్ట్‌లనూ భాగం చేస్తామని గడ్కరీ చెప్పారు. దీని వల్ల ప్రస్తుతం 36,000 కోట్ల డాలర్లున్న లాజిస్టిక్‌ వ్యాపారం 2032 నాటికి 11,500 కోట్ల డాలర్లకు చేరుతుందన్నారు. ఈ సంవత్సరం మే నెలలో రవాణా, లాజిస్టిక్స్‌పై ప్రత్యేక సదస్సు నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్టు చెప్పారు. ఈ సదస్సు ద్వారా రూ.50,000 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడులను ఆకర్షించే అవకాశం ఉందన్నారు.

Nittsu Logistics opens warehouse in Sri City

Hyderabad, March 15:  

Nittsu Logistics (India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Co Ltd, has inaugurated its warehouse in Sri City.

Yasunori Takahashi, Managing Executive Officer, and Regional General Manager of Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania, along with Seiji Baba, Consul General of Japan in Chennai, commissioned the warehouse.

Takahashi in a statement said while increasing the company's presence in India, they are aggressively developing business in South India.

He said Sri City serves as an all-weather cross dock centre for various local manufacturing and engineering industries and those located around Chennai.

Seiji Baba mentioned that more and more Japanese manufacturing companies prefer to set up their business in Andhra Pradesh. Nittsu's establishment in Sri City is very timely, he said.

The warehouse, which was built in about 26 acres in less than 9 months, has a built-up area of 20,094 sq. m.

The company plans to expand it with an investment of Rs. 50 crore. This unit is 6th business location of Nittsu Logistics in India.

Nippon Express（India), a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Nippon Express Co, Ltd, had established Nittsu Logistics (India) in the country in 2011. Nittsu Logistics India is being positioned as a company specialising in domestic logistics.

Thermax lays foundation stone for new plant in Sri City

Hyderabad, March 16:  

Thermax Ltd has performed groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday marking the beginning of construction of its production unit in Sri City.

According to Ashish Vaishnav, Global Head, Cooling Business of Thermax, the plant is expected to be commissioned by March 2018.

The plant will be built on a 40 acre plot in the Domestic Tariff Zone in Sri City with an investment of Rs. 150 crore.

The plant will produce chillers for large scale air conditioning units, steam generators, and boilers etc. The company expects to provide employment opportunity for about 200 persons.

The Pune-based engineering company, Thermax specialises in energy and environment systems. Established in 1967, it offers integrated innovative solutions in the areas of heating, cooling, power, water and waste management, air pollution control and chemicals.

Thermax has manufacturing facilities in India, China and Europe.
