There seem to be confusion regarding $1200 stimulus check. Here are some points.

- Whoever filed 2018 or 2019 return using form 1040 (as a Resident) and income lower than $75000, will receive $1200. Between 75-99k it will gradually decrease.

-For F1 student, they MUST file 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ for first 5 years in US. So they are not eligible unless they landed in 2014 or before.

-Some F1 students incorrectly file 1040 using turbotax or other electronic method. They may have received refund as well but be aware that since you have filed incorrect Tax return, in future all the taxes might be reviewed and you will have to pay difference in refund and penalty determined by IRS.

- If you became resident in 2019 and haven’t filed the taxes yet, you have time to do so till July 15th. After that you can reach out to IRS to for stimulus refund. They will be processing them through out the year.
