Tesla

OPINION: Some people are upset that Tesla is lowering prices so rapidly, but prices also increased rapidly during the pandemic, to the point where the Model Y got too expensive for most people, which Tesla obviously didn't want (mission and all). But they had to do something to tackle the increasing backlog.

Then interests rates skyrocketed, stocks plummeted, recession fears loomed and demand for a $66k Model Y LR just wasn't what it used to be. This gave Tesla the opportunity to lower prices & deliver on what it set out to do 20 years ago: accelerate the advent of sustainable energy. The Model Y LR price now starts at $50k, where it did 2 years ago in April of 2021. Margins will still likely be class leading despite these recent price cuts and Tesla will sell more Teslas than ever, and likely produce record earnings in the coming quarters from an overall dollar amount perspective IMO.

The Megapack business will likely outperform almost everyones expectations this year, and 5 years from now, these last 90 days won't really be talked about anyway. Try to take a long term view with all this and not worry about short term stock price movements. At the end of the day, Tesla's long term trajectory is still very much intact and enabling affordability at scale is better for the planet.

Ev save planet is out right crap. But oil might finish with huge consumption or atleast they will not be able to reach demand. Electricity can be from solar in 10-20 years . But batteries cause lot of pollution.

Main advantage of ev is silence and instant torque pull which people r liking.

Musk against democrats is something democrats started pulling his leg

afaik — red people are conservatives and work in coal , oil gaints.
Blue — a bit progressive — support renewable energies .,,

Elon made some key points on pricing at Q&A session today after Tesla Q1 financial results announcement:

Tesla has real time data that no others have, we see the production and the orders that came in every day and after a week, we get an email of that report and we evaluate macro economic conditions and try to take the least dumb decision on pricing and its working out better than the rest of the industry

Fed Interest rates (If interest rates going up, It literally means car price going up) - For most people, the ability of buying car is whether they can make monthly payments or not, Layoffs and uncertainty in economy making it difficult and also banks not leaning forward in approving loans

If things go well, we have a shot at selling 2 million vehicles this year, that's upside case and we feel comfortable If it only do 1.8 million.

Tesla is in a strong unique position like no one that can sell cars for ZERO profit and still yield tremendous economics in future. (autonomy, service, charging and insurance that others don't have)

We are not trying to take these pricing actions in order to be deliberately undermine or bust the competitors, We really don't think about competitors that much, we just look at, do people like our cars and how to make our product better and more affordable. We're not destroying competitors, we're trying to help competitors in anyway we can in putting out our patents and making our super chargers available for all.

Lol he is clearly stating that i make profits anyway even if i sell without margin and others cant. thats purely killing competition before they even try to get market share.

I am not against him tough as its pure business and he came up with his strategy and executing from 10 years.  unless all others gang up and form joint operation to share technology and charging network , they cant over power Tesla.

Rav4 hybrid limited, CRV sport touring - You can't get MSRP price as stated above - On road price will be around $45,000 + delivery charge + Tax

This is where Tesla beat them - No dealers, mark ups, packages - On road price will stay at $39,490(with fed rebate) + delivery charge + Tax.
