40 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం అమెరికాలో నివసించే తెలుగు వారి అవసరాలకోసం, వారి పిల్లల భవిష్యత్తుకోసం మరియు తెలుగు భాషా సంస్కృతి అభివృద్ధి కోసం శ్రీ గుత్తికొండ రవీంద్రనాథ్ గారు, శ్రీ కాకర్ల సుబ్బారావు గారిలాంటి ఎందరో మహానుభావుల ఆలోచనలనుండి ఉద్భవించిన తానా నేడు గంగాధర్! జయరాం! వేమన అనే త్రిమూర్తుల చేతిలో బంధీగా చిక్కి సంస్థ మనుగడే ప్రశ్నార్థకంగా మారింది.

 

40 సంవత్సరాల ఉత్సవాలు జరుపుకుంటున్న తానాలో బయటకు కనిపించే హడావిడి అంత నేతిబీరకాయలో నెయ్యిలాంటిది మాత్రమే. చీమలు పెట్టిన పుట్టలో పాములుగా చేరి చీకటి మాటున గంగాధర్! జయరాం! వేమన మరియు వారి వందిమాగధులు జరుగుపుతున్న ఆర్ధిక, రాజకీయ అవినీతి, అక్రమాలపై సమగ్ర సమాచారాన్ని సభ్యులముందు ఉంచటమే ఈ ధారావాహిక ఉద్దేశ్యం.

తానా ఎన్నికలు అనేవి తానా లో స్వచ్చందంగా చేరే సభ్యులు రెండు సంవత్సరాలకు ఒకసారి తమ నాయకత్వాన్ని ఎన్నుకోవడానికి అనేది అందరికి తెలిసిన సత్యం. కానీ 2008 తరువాత దాని అర్ధాన్ని తమ స్వార్ధం కోసం మార్చిన ఘనత ఈ ముగ్గురి ముదుర్లకు దక్కుతుంది. జలగల్లాగా గత దశాబ్ద కాలంగా గంగాధర్ మరియు జయరాం ఎందుకు తానా నాయకత్వములో ఏలాడుతున్నారు? తమ ఆర్ధిక, రాజకీయ అవినీతి, అక్రమాలకూ పునాదులను ఏర్పరుచుకోవటానికి అద్దె సభ్యులను (Rental Members) ఎందుకు రంగంలోకి దించటం మొదలు పెట్టారు? 2000 ముందు అతి సామాన్యులుగా ఉన్న వీరు తానా ను ఎలా గుప్పిట్లోకి తెచ్చుకున్నారు?

 

2008 ముందు తానా లో పేట్రియాటిక్ (Real Members) సభ్యులు మాత్రమే వుండే వారు అంటే సంస్థ మీద వున్న అభిమానంతో తమ సొంత డబ్బుతో సభ్యత్వం తీసుకునేవారు. దానిని ఎంతో పవిత్రముగా భావించేవారు. ప్రతి కార్యక్రమంలో మరియు కాన్ఫెరెన్సులలో చాలా ఉత్సాహాంగా పాల్గొనేవారు. తానా పత్రిక రాకపోతే చాలా బాధపడేవారు. తానా అంటే తనది అని భావించే వారు.

 

తానా ద్వారా తమ ఆర్థిక, రాజకీయ ప్రయోజనాలను నెరవేర్చుకోవటానికి పక్క ప్రణాళికతో మాదాల రవి, చలసాని మల్లికార్జునరావు, కాకరాల ప్రభాకర్ చౌదరి, వల్లభనేని యుగంధర్, ముక్కామల అప్పారావు, దొడ్డపనేని బాబురావు, వడ్లమూడి రామ్మోహనరావు లాంటి ఎందరినో విజయవంతముగా బయటకు పంపటం జరిగింది. దీనికి అక్షరాలా 15 లక్షల డాలర్ల తానా సొమ్మును లాయర్లకు అర్పించటం జరిగింది. ఎవడిఅబ్బ సొమ్మని తానా ధాతల మరియు జీవితకాల సభ్యుల సొమ్మును ఖర్చుపెట్టారు. అన్యాయాన్ని ప్రశ్నించిన అనేకమందిని సంస్థనుంచి నిర్ధాక్షిణ్యంగా బయటకు పంపటం జరిగింది.

 

తానాను దీర్ఘకాలం తమ గుప్పిట్లో ఉంచుకోవాలనే దుష్ట ఆలోచనతో అద్దె సభ్యుల (Rental Members) సంస్కృతిని విజయవంతముగా వారి వంధిమాగధులతో ప్రవేశపెట్టారు. అద్దె సభ్యుల ఆధిపత్యంతో చెలరేగిన ఈ గ్యాంగు నాయకత్వంలో ఎవరు ఉండాలి ఎవరు ఉండవద్దు అనే స్థాయికి చేరుకోవటం జరిగింది. దానిలో భాగంగానే గత ఎన్నికలలో ఎన్నో సంవత్సరాలు తానాకు నిస్వార్ధ సేవచేసిన ఎలమంచిలి, కొల్లా, చుక్కపల్లి లాంటి వారిని తొలగించి వారి స్థానంలో వారి తాబేదారులను తీసుకరావటం జరిగింది. ప్రస్తుత అధ్యక్షుడు కూడా ఈ మూకల సహాయంతో అడ్డదారిలో అందలమెక్కినవాడే!

 

2014 లో జరిగిన ఎన్నికలలో అధ్యక్షుడు గా పోటీచేసిన వేమన అతని అనుచరగణం అక్షరాలా రెండు లక్షల డాలర్లు సభ్యత్వం కోసం ఖర్చుపెట్టి సుమారు 2000 మంది నకిలీ / అద్దె సభ్యులను చేర్పించటం జరిగింది. కొసమెరుపు ఏమిటంటే వసూల్ రాజా వేమన ఒక్క రూపాయ కూడా తన జేబులో నుంచి కాకుండా అంతా వసూలు కార్యక్రమంతో పూర్తిచేసినాడు. ఇతని వసూలు కార్యక్రమాలు మరియు దందాలు తరువాత తెలుసుకుందాము.

 

7000 కుటుంబాలు తానాలో చేరటానికి ౩5 సంవత్సరాలు పడితే వసూలురాజ వేమన చేతి చలవ వలన రెండు నెలలలో 2000 మంది అద్దె సభ్యులను చేర్చటం జరిగింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమం మొత్తం అతని రాజ గురువులైన జయరాం, గంగాధర్ ల కనుసన్నలలో జరిగింది

 

దీనితో తానా సాంప్రదాయ మద్దతుదారులు, స్వచ్చంద సభ్యులు తానా కు దూరముగా జరగటం లేదా ఇతర తెలుగు సంఘాలలోకి వెళ్ళటం జరిగింది. ఈ పరిణామంతో అడ్డు అదుపు లేకుండా పోయిన ఈ గ్యాంగ్ తానాను తమ ఆర్ధిక మరియు రాజకీయ అవినీతికి వేదికగా మలిచారు.

 

ఈ సంవత్సరం జరిగిన సభ్యత్వ నమోదు మరియు అభ్యర్థుల ఎన్నిక పూర్తిగా డబ్బు చుట్టూ తిరగటం జరిగింది. లోతుల్లోకివెళ్ళి వాస్తవాలను చూస్తే సభ్యసమాజం తలదించుకునే విధంగా మరియు ఒక స్వచ్చంద సంస్థను వాడుకొని ఇన్ని దురాగతాలు చేయవచ్చా అనే ఆలోచన కలుగుతుంది.

 

ఈ సారి అధ్యక్షుడిగా పోటీచేసే వ్యక్తి అతని అనుచరగణం ఆరు లక్షల డాలర్స్ ఖర్చుపెట్టి సుమారు 5000 మంది అద్దె సభ్యులను రెండు నెలలలో చేర్చటం జరిగింది. 38 సంవత్సరాలలో పది వేల కుటుంబాలు సభ్యులుగా చేరితే కేవలం రెండు నెలలలోనే 7500 సభ్యులను డబ్బుకట్టి చేర్చి అద్దె సభ్యుల సంస్కృతిని పరాకాస్టకు చేర్చటం జరిగింది. ఈ విషయాన్ని https://www.telugu360.com అనే ఆన్లైన్ పోర్టల్ సవివరంగా బయటపెట్టం జరిగింది.

 

అద్దె సభ్యులలో కూడా నిర్లజ్జగా అనేక అవకతవకలకు పాటుపడ్డారు. పెండ్లికాని అద్దె సభ్యులకు నకిలీ భార్యలను మరియు నకిలీ మొగుళ్లను అంటగట్టారు. భర్త లేదా భార్య చనిపోయినవారి నకిలీ భార్యలను మరియు నకిలీ మొగుళ్లను చేర్చటం జరిగింది. చివరకు విడాకులు తీసుకున్న వారికి కూడా నకిలీ భార్యలను మరియు నకిలీ మొగుళ్లను చేర్చటం జరిగింది. ఒకే అపార్టుమెంట్లో 6 మించి కుటుంబాలు నివశిస్తున్నట్లు సృష్టించారు. గిఫ్ట్ కార్డుతో కొన్ని వందల మంది నకిలీ సభ్యులను చేర్చటం జరిగింది.

 

ఈ అవకతవకలపై అనేక ఆరోపణలు వెల్లువెత్తటంతో ఆత్మరక్షణలో పడ్డ ప్రస్తుత నాయకత్వం విచారణ అనే కొత్త నాటకానికి తెర లేపి, అడ్డదారిలో వేమన మిత్రుడి రంగంలోకి దింపి అతని కంపెనీ ద్వారా విచారణ పేరుతో పెద్ద తతంగం నడిపి అంతా సవ్యంగా జరిగింది అనే స్టాంప్ వారికి వారే వేసుకున్నారు. ముందు ఎలాటి ఖర్చు లేకుండా విచారణ అని మొదలుపెట్టి చివరకు వేమన మిత్రుడి కంపెనీకి $25,000 డాలర్స్ అర్పించుకోవటం జరిగింది. ఇందులో వేమన వాటా ఎంతో తేలాల్సివుంది. ఈ విచారణ అంత కొండను త్రవ్వి ఎలుకను పట్టిన సామెతలాగా మారింది. విచారణ మొదటినుండి చివర వరకు అత్యంత గోప్యాంగా తమకు అనుకూలంగా నిర్వహించటం జరిగింది. ఎంత మంది అద్దె సభ్యులు తమ నిరూపణ పత్రాలు పంపారో ఇప్పటికి ఒక సస్పెన్స్.

 

ప్రెసిడెంట్ గా పోటీచేసే ఒక అభ్యర్థి రెండు సంవత్సరాల క్రితమే గంగాధర్ & జయరాం కు చేరి రెండు లక్షల డాలర్స్ చొప్పున అప్పు ఇచ్చి తన స్థానాన్ని పదిలపరుచుకున్నాడు. ఇప్పుడు అతను గెలిస్తే ఆ అప్పు తూచ్ లేదా ఎవరో ఒకరికి శఠగోపరం పెట్టటం ఖాయం. ఈ డీల్ లో అతను వేమనకు ఎంత అర్పించుకున్నాడో లెక్క తేలాల్సివుంది.

 

వెరసి తానా అధ్యక్షుడు కావాలని కోరుకునేవారు ఒక మిలియన్ ఖర్చుపెట్టాల్సిన పరిస్థితి దాపురించింది. తెలుగు వారికి సేవచేసే సంస్థకు అధ్యక్షుడు కావాలంటే మిలియన్ డాలర్స్ ఖర్చు పెట్టాల్సిన అవసరం వుందా? దీని వెనుక వున్నా ఆర్ధిక మరియు రాజకీయ ప్రయోజనాలూ ఎన్నో మీరే ఆలోచించండి??

 

40 సంవత్సరాలుగా ఎంతోమంది కార్యకర్తల నిస్వార్థసేవతో నిర్మితమైన మన సంస్థ ఓనత్యాన్ని కాపాడుకోవలసిన బాధ్యత ప్రతి తానా సభ్యుడిపైనా వుంది. తానాలో జరుగుతున్న వాస్తవాలను మీముందు ఉంచటమే మా ఉద్దేశ్యం. అలాగే ఎంతో మంది త్యాగాన్ని తమ స్వార్ధం కోసం వాడుకుంటున్న గంగాధర్, జయరాం, వేమన లాంటి స్వార్థపరులను తానా నుండి సాగనంపాల్సిన సమయం ఆసన్నమైనది. స్వంత డబ్బులతో తానా చేరని వానికి తానా పట్ల ప్రేమ ఎలాగూ ఉండదు ఎందుకంటె వారు ఎవరికోసమో పనిచేసే కిరాయి మనుషులు మాత్రమే. కానీ తానా మీద ప్రేమతో తమ కష్టార్జితంలో నుండి 125 డాలర్స్ పేచేసి తానాలో సభ్యులుగా చేరిన ప్రతిఒక్కరు ఈ అవినీతి అక్రమాలమీద ఏకం కావాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తున్నాము.

Unfortunately only the negative news gets lot of traction.. earlier it costed 20K to send a body to india, Until now TANA has sent hundreds of dead Modies to india and by their process, cut down the costs to 2-3K now. Tana paid 20K for every tri valley student bail in 2010 ( No other organization was able to pay a dollar to get bail for anyone).. many more like this..  Tana is run completely on donations , its non profit organization. 

 

for Some people its full time, they hold command as they spend their whole time on the organization. and its what their interest lies in. there are certainly few flaws... but people should not only look at the negative side.

Irrespective of what the so called TANA Patriots are claiming, the present Leadership is the reason more Members have joined. There are about 20 big and small Telugu organizations in US and TANA is still the best organization in terms of service to the community, resources, cultural heritage, literary programs and other charities. Sure, it has political colors once in a while but on order to retain identity and being Leader of the Pack it's inevitable. Gangadhar and Jayaram broke the previous convention of becoming TANA Presidents, and that's the cause of heartburn to few. However Satish Vemana's strides to the TANA top post is history.

 

Satish is the sole reason why TANA 2007 Conference in Washington DC was a legendary success, with almost 16,000 attendees and first Million Dollar conference. Till date, no other conferences in any Telugu organizations had these many attendees. He took TANA to another level and deservedly won as President Elect with 80% vote. There may be discrepancies here and there, but these exist every where.

 

Point to note is there is no other Telugu Leader across US like Satish who's acceptable to most of the old-timers, youngsters and ladies. He can strike balance with all folks across 2 telugu states, political parties, castes, domains etc.

 

Everything subsides once Elections are over.

Satish is the only person who took TANA to next level.. He is most deserved Candidate to be a President for any Telugu organization. He did not selected by any Bigwigs of TANA.. He democratically elected by all TANA members.. He came from middle class and low profile background and become President of TANA. This is not an easy task. His down to earth attitude and mingling with all Telugu people and students brings him charisma in younger generation.

 

Only some people with pure jealousy at Satish started this venomous attack to unpopular his Image. Only JayaRam Garu, Gangadhar Garu and Satish Vemana garu stood boldly as a backbone when split happened in TANA to bring back the glory of 40 years history.

 

There is nothing wrong if someone working so hard to increase the members of any organization. where were these so called TANA patriots when there was a split in TANA,Better TANA patriots should stop this kind of  Goebbels Propaganda..
