Private operators to maintain AP tourism properties

 

Vijayawada: Around half-a-dozen plush properties spread across the state belonging to state-run Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) are all set to fall into the hands of private players.

APTDC had poured hundreds of crores of rupees into developing these properties,  most of them beach destinations. APTDC invited bids calling private operators to operate and maintain these properties for a period of 33 years.

 

The successful bidder will be given the leeway to fix the room tariff   without any cap or control.

In a first instalment, beach resorts at Baruva in Srikakulam district, Sagar Nagar, Endada in Vizag district, hotel property in Nelapattu which has a bird sanctuary in Nellore district, will start proceedings.

APTDC had developed properties across the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh and also has plans to improve them, besides developing  at least 20 new properties.

The bid document issued by the APTDC recently, stated: "Subject to the provisions of this agreement, the operator shall during operations period be entitled to levy, demand and collect fee or tariff in accordance with the industry norms and practices for the use of rooms as well as allied facilities at the project for the duration of the service period. Authority (APTDC) will not be involved in the determination of such fee or tariff that the operator will charge. The operator is entitled to revise the fee from time to time and such revisions can be either upward or downward depending on the situation".

As demand for branded rooms has  been growing manifold in the state, the APTDC had decided to hand over the properties to private players for better maintenance.

This comes amidst frequent complaints about the poor maintenance of these properties by the APTDC staff.

Boat fest at Navalanka receives good response

 

Vijayawada: The two-day boat festival at Nagayalanka, also called Navalanka,  received good response. The boat race and cultural programmes enthralled the visitors. The huts erected on the banks of the lake allowed visitors to stay overnight and enjoy the atmosphere. Many predicted that Nagayalanka would be another Kerala by next year if houseboats are arranged.

Boat race was held for a second time at this place. This time, the authorities involved NDRF, Water Sports Authority and police to organise things systematically. The vigorous campaign by the tourism department led to participation of many teams in the race. With the vigorous campaign by the Tourism, many teams have come forward to participate in the race. People also thronged the place in large numbers so much so that the police could not control them.

 

The luxury huts have been a major attraction at the event, this year. One family could stay in a hut, provided with all facilities. The huts could be booked online and all the huts were occupied. Luxury huts, speed boats, cycling and games like treasure hunt were arranged at the place and food was provided to the families. In the evening, cultural programmes and campfire were organised.

Mallikarjun, executive director, AP Tourism, told this paper: "We have achieved our target by introducing new concepts. Luxury huts received overwhelming response. We will continue them on a regular basis. Navalanka will become a new source of income for us. The tourism department is now planning to make all coastal areas into tourist destinations."

The musical night by Vandemataram Srinivas, Geeta Madhuri and others was a big draw. There is a proposal to arrange housing boats like in Kerala. A Water Sports Academy would also be constructed here for which minister Kollu Ravindra laid the foundation stone on Sunday.

చల్లపల్లి చూసొద్దాం

ఇప్పుడు రాజులు లేరు. రాజ్యాలు అంతకన్నా లేవు. సంస్థానాలూ లేవు. జమీందార్లూ లేరు. కానీ, ఆనాటి రాచరికపు ఠీవిని ఈనాటికీ కళ్లముందుంచే ఆనవాళ్లకు మాత్రం కొదువలేదు. కోటలు, బురుజులు, గడీలు ఊరూరా కనిపిస్తూనే ఉంటాయి. కొన్ని కోటలు బీటలు వారి చరిత్రను వెక్కిరిస్తుంటే.. ఇంకొన్ని భవనాలు అంతే అందంగా ఘన చరిత్రకు వారధిగా నిలుస్తున్నాయి. అలాంటి వాటిలో ఒకటి కృష్ణాజిల్లాలోని చల్లపల్లిరాజా వారి కోట. నాలుగు శతాబ్దాల చరిత్రకు దర్పణంగా ఉన్న చల్లపల్లి కోట వారాంతపు పర్యాటక విడిదిగా అలరిస్తోంది. 
చల్లపల్లి రాజావారి కోట అంటే కృష్ణా-గుంటూరు జిల్లాలో తెలియని వారు ఉండరు. దేవరకోట సంస్థానానికి చల్లపల్లి రాజధానిగా ఉండేది. ఈ జమీ పరిధిలో సుమారు వందకుపైగా గ్రామాలు ఉండేవి. యార్లగడ్డ వంశీయులు చల్లపల్లిని పాలించేవారు. 190 చదరపు మైళ్ల విస్తీర్ణంలో ఉన్న దేవరకోట సంస్థానం.. 1949లో భారతదేశంలో విలీనమైంది. 
అక్కడంతా ప్రశాంతం.. 
చల్లపల్లిలో ప్రధాన ఆకర్షణ.. రాజావారి కోట. బురుజులు, భవంతులతో 20 ఎకరాలు విస్తరించి ఉంటుంది. అశోక వృక్షాలు, భారీ చెట్లతో, నిండైన పచ్చదనంతో ఆ ప్రాంతమంతా ప్రశాంతంగా ఉంటుంది. కోటలోని అపురూప శిల్ప సంపద అందరినీ ఆకట్టుకుంటుంది. కోట ప్రధాన ద్వారం ఆనాటి అద్భుత నిర్మాణశైలికి ప్రతీకగా నిలుస్తుంది. కోట ముఖద్వారం దగ్గర ఏర్పాటు చేసిన కంచుగంట ఆ రోజుల్లో చల్లపల్లివాసులకు గడియారంగా ఉపయోగపడేది. గంట గంటకూ.. ఆ కంచు గంట మోగించే వాళ్లు. దానిని బట్టి కోట చుట్టుపక్కల ప్రజలు సమయాన్ని తెలుసుకునేవారు. నేటికీ ఆ సంప్రదాయం కొనసాగుతుండటం విశేషం. కోటలోని ప్రధాన భవనంలో ఉన్న శిల్పాలు, పింగాణి సామగ్రి, గృహోపకరణ వస్తువులను చూసేందుకు పర్యాటకులు ఉత్సాహం చూపుతుంటారు. 
ఇలా వెళ్లొచ్చు.. 
విజయవాడ నుంచి చల్లపల్లి సుమారు 60 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఉంటుంది. విజయవాడ నుంచి బస్సులు, ట్యాక్సీలు అందుబాటులో ఉంటాయి. 
సమీపంలో.. 
చల్లపల్లికి సమీపంలో ఆధ్యాత్మిక, పర్యాటక క్షేత్రాలు ఎన్నో ఉన్నాయి. 
*  మోపిదేవి సుబ్రహ్మణ్యస్వామి క్షేత్రం  (8 కిలోమీటర్లు) 
*  శాస్త్రీయ నృత్య కేంద్రమైన కూచిపూడి (16 కిలోమీటర్లు) 
*  పెదకళ్లేపల్లి శ్రీదుర్గానాగేశ్వరస్వామి ఆలయం (10 కిలోమీటర్లు) 
*  కృష్ణానది సముద్రంలో కలిసే హంసలదీవి (35 కిలోమీటర్లు) 
*  బౌద్ధ క్షేత్రం ఘంటసాల (8 కిలోమీటర్లు)

నౌకా విహారం..

చల్లపల్లికి 25 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో నాగాయలంక  లాంచీల రేవు దగ్గరున్న శ్రీరామపాదక్షేత్రం ఎంతో ప్రసిద్ధి. ఇక్కడి నుంచి పడవల్లో కృష్ణానదిపై విహరించవచ్చు. నాగాయలంక మండలం గుల్లలమోద సమీపంలో 110 అడుగుల ఎత్తులో లైట్‌హౌస్‌ ఉంది. దీనిని చూసేందుకు నాగాయలంక నుంచి ప్రత్యేక లాంచీల్లో పర్యాటకులు తరలివెళ్తుంటారు.

షిప్‌ కంటైనర్లే గదులు!

సముద్ర రవాణాకు ఉపయోగించే షిప్‌ కంటైనర్లను సకల వసతులతో కూడిన అధునాతన హోటల్‌ గదులుగా మార్చి, వాడుకునే ప్రక్రియ మనకు కొత్తయినప్పటికీ పలు విదేశాల్లో కొంతకాలంగా ప్రాచుర్యం పొందింది. కంటైనర్‌ హోటళ్లను కేవలం 3 మాసాల్లోనే ఏర్పాటు చేసేయొచ్చు! ఖర్చు చాలా తక్కువ. ఇప్పటికే ముంద్రా సెజ్‌లో ఇలాంటి దాన్ని నెలకొల్పారు. వీటి నిర్మాణంలో కాలుష్యపరమైన సమస్యలు తలెత్తవు. ఈ తాత్కాలిక హోటళ్లను అవసరమై నంత కాలం ఉంచి, తర్వాత వేరొక చోటకు సులభంగా తరలించవచ్చు.

అమరావతి: ప్రాధాన్య ప్రాజెక్టుల పనుల పురోగతిపై సీఎం చంద్రబాబు సమీక్ష నిర్వహించారు. మార్చి 15 నాటికి పురుషోత్తపట్నం ఎత్తపోతల పథకం పూర్తి చేయాలని తూర్పుగోదావరి జిల్లా అధికారులకు సీఎం ఆదేశించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా గుండ్లకమ్మ ప్రాజెక్టు పనులపై కూడా చంద్రబాబు సమీక్షించారు. వంశధార-నాగావళి నదుల అనుసంధానంపై సీఎం చర్చించారు. కొండవీటి వాగును ఏప్రిల్‌లోగా పూర్తి చేయాలని ఆదేశించారు. మల్లెమడుగు ప్రాజెక్టును జూన్ లోగా పూర్తి చేయాలన్నారు. ఏడు ప్రాజెక్టులను పూర్తిచేశామని, మరో 6 ప్రాజెక్టులు ప్రారంభోత్సవానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాయని సీఎం చంద్రబాబు వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.ii

జలక్రీడల్లో నిరుద్యోగ యువతకు శిక్షణ
ఈనాడు, అమరావతి: నిరుద్యోగ యువతకు జలక్రీడల్లో శిక్షణ ఇప్పించేందుకు రాష్ట్ర పర్యాటక శాఖ సిద్ధమైంది. జలక్రీడలకు ఆదరణ పెరుగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో శిక్షకుల కొరత ఏర్పడింది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో యువతకు శిక్షణ ఇప్పించి ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు కల్పించాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది. ఇందుకు పర్యాటక శాఖ గోవాలోని జాతీయ జలక్రీడల సంస్థతో ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకుంది.  బుధవారం రాష్ట్ర పర్యాటక శాఖ కార్యదర్శి ముకేష్‌కుమార్‌ మీనా కార్యాలయం ఓ ప్రకటన విడుదలచేసింది. తొలివిడతలో అనంతపురం పర్యాటక హబ్‌ పరిధిలోని 15 మంది నిరుద్యోగులను ఎంపిక చేసి వారికి శిక్షణ ఇప్పించాలని నిర్ణయించారు. ఒక్కో అభ్యర్థికి రూ.37వేల చొప్పున చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుందని తేల్చారు. బీచ్‌ లైఫ్‌గార్డ్‌ పేరుతో నీటిలో మునిపోతున్నవారిని కాపాడడంలో, టిల్లర్‌ విభాగంలో పవర్‌ బోట్‌ నడపడం, నిర్వహణ వంటి విషయాల్లో గోవాలో శిక్షణ ఇస్తారని తెలిపారు.
