If anyone takes investment decisions basing on such short term events, he is the biggest fool.

Good companies always perform well irrespective of short term things. No one can save bad companies over long term.

Ex. One of my stocks - Ricoh fell from 320 to 260 without any reason in the last week. It recovered everything in last 3 days.

Why it fell? Because of short term ignorant idiots - who have neither patience nor maturity to stay calm during tough times.

Because of them, outsiders think stock markets are gambling centers.

Short term game players have their own game 2 play. Not that they are ignorants or idiots but its just their way of playing game.

I don't remember name, a famour stock market player has a biggest gain in history of books as huge gainer of short trades.

Brother, you are talking about George Soros. It is not a mindless short term play. One of the best strategic decisions ever made.

But, that is a different ball game of hedge funds.

I don't want to prolong - I am talking about ordinary investors who invest basing on short term news. You might have succeeded like that.

As a stock market blogger, I receive sad stories (Calls) almost every week from readers. I don't know why people complicate investments by taking unnecessary risks.

Most of outsiders think - stock markets are gambling centers or casino plays. Only serious investors know the beauty of stock investments - how much hard work goes into research before making an investment irrespective of future success/failure.

Ordinary investors, dependent investors generally perform below avg.

News based trading is also new era in stock trading.of course I don't trade stocks now,but used 2 say 2 my frnds.

Jus take a couple of players who's actions can influence markets like Jhunjunwala.

On avg he trades at least 5 stocks a year, pick the same strategy and exit after 10% return which happens in less than a week time. Sit idle for rest whole year, u still earn 50% + per annum

OK brother... leave it. Our thoughts are different on this subject. If someone is making money from something.. it is better to continue that.

short term is not everyones cup of tea.you have to have lot o capital and fund mobilization

No.. if you are going for intraday or positional swing trading, 1 lakh in the account will suffice. With proper money management, the 1 lakh can do very good MoM basis. Infact longer term needs a lot of capital because you need to stay in the cash market for months. If you are into derivatives, with intraday or swing trading or short term trading, you dont need much.
