#CBI Vs CBI: Alok Verma case in Supreme Court

The decision was taken by PM Modi without consulting the then Defence Minister Parikkar. This fact is supported by statements of Parikkar : Arun Shourie in Supreme Court

Documents of Dassault reveal that actual pricing is contrary to prices disclosed in Parliament : Shourie

on pricing there can’t be any secrecy issue when govt itself disclosed the price in Parliament. It’s a bogus argument for govt to say they can’t disclose pricing. In new deal, Rafale jets cost 40% more than earlier deal

Even two days before the deal was announce by PM on April 10, 2015, the Foreign Secy had stated on record that talks between Dassault and HAL were on : Shourie

We want to meet someone from Indian Air Force, not from Ministry. After all we are dealing with Air Force, says CJI Ranjan Gogoi.

He will be here soon, says AG KK Venugopal.

Looks like Gogoi is not the Modi fearing type.

Justice KM Joseph asks AG how did the PM announce about the new deal even before the RFP of the old agreement was to be withdrawn.

As AG struggles to answer, CJI comes to his help. "Your own note says process of withdrawal had begun in Mar 2015 & was concluded in June"

Which are the countries flying Rafale, CJI Gogoi.

AG: We had soldiers dying in Kargil War. If there was Rafale jets then, we could have saved lives. They could have shot over 60 km

CJI: Mr. Attorney, Kargil was in 1999-2000? Rafale came in 2014!

AG (laughs): I said it hypothetically

Centre today told SC that Dassault haven’t given them any details about Indian offset partners.

When Dassault can give this list to an Indian news agency, why not to the Govt ?

Proves Govt didn’t ask too. Also what is the need of that mandatory six months report ?
