Kia India's Plant Construction In Andhra Pradesh Stays Ahead Of Schedule

Kia Motors India has put up its brand logo at its Andhra Pradesh plant.

We know that Kia Motors is all set to enter the Indian market by mid-2019 with first a compact SUV, followed by two more products. We also know that the company is setting up its big manufacturing plant in Yerramanchi village at Penugonda Mandal of Anantapur district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Kia has already invested $1.1 billion in its manufacturing facility here, and it seems the construction is nearing completion. According to a post shared on social media, Kia Motors India has put up its brand logo as well at this plant. The image suggests that most of the masonry construction is completed, while installation of the equipment and machinery will take place in the next few months.

A senior official at Kia Motors India told carandbike that the work at the Anantapur plant is 65 to 75 per cent complete and is ahead of its schedule by a month or so. Soon, the plant will get its machinery and equipment before the actual production of the cars can begin next year. However, Kia did not reveal any other detail as to which part of the facility is ready and what specific tooling work remains.

In February this year, Kia announced that work on the manufacturing facility was well underway. The full-fledged manufacturing plant will include an engine shop, body and paint shops, seat assembly, vehicle assembly unit, utility centre and power train shop. Work on each of these building divisions is said to be nearing completion. Kia also announced that the total investment would go up to $2 billion in India by 2021 and will create more than 10,000 jobs.

Kia Motors will officially begin its operations in India next year with the plant having an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units. It will then be expanded to 100,000 more in the short term. The Andhra plant is on track to become one of Kia's biggest production locations globally. Kia Motors currently produces 3 million cars worldwide, and the Indian factory will be its 15th manufacturing facility. The first product to roll out from the new plant will be that aforementioned compact SUV based on the SP Concept. The car had its world premiere at the Auto Expo 2018, where Kia made its market brand debut as well.

2019 తొలి త్రైమాసికంలోనే మొదటి కారు సిద్ధం చేయాలనే సంకల్పంతో శరవేగంగా కియా కార్ల పరిశ్రమ పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. దీనికి అనుబంధంగా ఉండే పరిశ్రమల ఏర్పాటు కూడా వేగం అందుకున్నాయి. వీటితో కూడా జిల్లాకు రూ.వేల కోట్ల పెట్టుబడి రూపంలో వస్తుండగా, వేల మందికి ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు దక్కనున్నాయి. దాదాపు అన్ని పరిశ్రమలకు భూకేటాయింపు జరగ్గా... ఇప్పటికే వివిధ సంస్థలు పనులు ఆరంభించాయి.

పెనుకొండ సమీపంలోని జాతీయ రహదారికి ఆనుకొని కియా కార్ల తయారీ పరిశ్రమ సిద్ధం అవుతోంది. ఈ పరిశ్రమకు అవసరమైన విడి భాగాలను వివిధ అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు అందించనున్నాయి. ఇందులో భాగంగా కియాకు సమీపంలో అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు కూడా వస్తున్నాయి. దాదాపు 20 అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు ఇప్పటికే ముందుకొచ్చాయి. వీటిలో కొన్ని భూములు తీసుకొని, అందులో తమ పరిశ్రమ ఏర్పాటు పనుల్లో నిమగ్నమయ్యాయి. వచ్చే ఏడాది
మార్చిలోపు కియాలో తొలి కారు
సిద్ధం కావాలని భావిస్తున్నారు. అంటే ఆ సమయానికి అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు కూడా దాదాపు అందుబాటులోకి వచ్చేలా కార్యాచరణ సిద్ధం చేస్తున్నారు. ఇందులో పలు పరిశ్రమలకు అవసరమైన మౌలిక వసతులు ప్రభుత్వం కల్పించనుంది.

15 పరిశ్రమలకు భూములు...
కియా ప్రధాన పరిశ్రమ లోపల ఐదు అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలు ఏర్పాటవుతున్నాయి. ఇవన్నీ పూర్తిగా దక్షిణ కొరియాకు చెందిన సంస్థలే. ఇవి కీలక విడిభాగాలను సిద్ధం చేసి ఇస్తాయి. ఇంకా ఇతర విడిభాగాలను అందించే ఇతర అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలకు కియాకు దగ్గరలో భూములు కేటాయించారు. ఇందుకు అవసరమైన భూములను ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ పారిశ్రామిక మౌలిక వసతుల కల్పన సంస్థ (ఏపీఐఐసీ) సిద్ధం చేసింది.

కియా ప్రధాన ప్లాంట్‌ ఉన్న అమ్మవారిపల్లెతోపాటు, గుడిపల్లిలో భూములను సేకరించి సిద్ధం చేశారు. ఇందులో 15 అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమలకు భూములు కేటాయించారు. అమ్మవారిపల్లె వద్ద 5 పరిశ్రమలు, గుడిపల్లి వద్ద 10 పరిశ్రమలకు ఈ ఏడాది ఏప్రిల్‌ నుంచి గత నెల వరకు వరుసగా భూములు కేటాయించారు. ఆయా భూముల్లో ప్లాట్లను సిద్ధం చేసి, వాటిని సంబంధిత పరిశ్రమలకు కేటాయించారు. ఇందులో ఏడు పరిశ్రమలు అప్పుడే ముందుకొచ్చి పనులు ఆరంభించాయి. మిగిలిన సంస్థలు ఇంకా పనులు ఆరంభించాల్సి ఉంది. ఇవన్నీ మార్చి, ఏప్రిల్‌ నాటికి పరిశ్రమలు నిర్మాణం పూర్తిచేసుకుంటాయని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. అన్ని అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమల ద్వారా జిల్లాకు దాదాపు రూ.3,500 కోట్ల మేర పెట్టుబడుల రూపంలో రానున్నాయి. అలాగే వీటిలో తక్కువ విద్యార్హతలతోనే ఉద్యోగాలు లభించే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలుస్తోంది. అన్ని అనుబంధ పరిశ్రమల్లో కలిపి దాదాపు 7,500 మంది వరకు ఉపాధి దక్కే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయని జిల్లా పరిశ్రమల కేంద్రం జనరల్‌ మేనేజర్‌ సుదర్శన్‌బాబు ‘ఈనాడు’కు తెలిపారు.

అమరావతి, సెప్టెంబరు 20(ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి): అనంతపురం జిల్లా ఎర్రమంచి గ్రామంలోని కియ మోటార్స్‌ కార్పొరేషన్‌కు మౌలిక సదుపాయాల కల్పన కోసం రూ.133.29 కోట్లు ఖర్చు చేసేందుకు ఏపీఐఐసీకి రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం అనుమతి ఇచ్చింది. మౌలిక సదుపాయల కల్పనకు బ్యాంకుల నుంచి తీసుకునే రూ.2000 కోట్ల రుణం నుంచి ఈ నిధులు వ్యయం చేయాలని పరిశ్రమల శాఖ గురువారం జారీ చేసిన ఉత్తర్వుల్లో పేర్కొంది. నీటి సరఫరాకు రూ.22 కోట్లు, విద్యుత్‌ కనెక్షన్ల కోసం రూ.63 కోట్లు, రోడ్‌ ఓవర్‌ బ్రిడ్జికి రూ.80 కోట్లు, ‘కియ’ ప్లాంటు నుంచి 4 లేన్ల రహదారి, రైల్‌ ఓవర్‌ బ్రిడ్జి రూ.97.33 కోట్లతో నిర్మించేందుకు అనుమతి ఇచ్చింది.

Drought-prone district to become industrial hub

Anantapur: The state government is focusing on industrialisation of the district by roping in industrialists for setting up of large, medium and small-scale industries. Tadipatri, Penukonda and Hindupur are emerging as industrial zones and have set the tone for industrialisation of the district.

 

 

 

 

Tadipatri was the first to evolve as an industrial zone with already three cement companies, Birla Cement, Ultratech Cement and Penna Cement are dotting the tiny industrial town. Tadipatri is known for its granite industries and a medium steel plant popularly known as Gerdau Steel Plant.

 

Penukonda is now the new industrial zone with the advent of Kia Motors and the hundreds of ancillary industries which are in the pipeline. Within one-year, Penukonda would experience industrial boom once Kia is launched in January.

 

Many Korean companies have set its eyes on Penukonda and the tiny historical town is all poised for speedy industrialisation. Penukonda will soon transform into a Korean city with several Korean establishments and hotels already making a bee line.

 

Hindupur is emerging as a large industrial zone with several electronic industries making a beeline. It has close proximity to international airport in Bengaluru and so is being marketed as a cost-effective industrial zone as plenty of land is available at an affordable cost.

 

Many industrialists, who could not secure land for setting up of industries in Bengaluru, are looking at Hindupur in view of the multiple benefits of affordable land prices and cheap labour availability. MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna is evincing keen interest in speedy industrialisation of Hindupur and inviting many industrial promoters personally.

 

Recently, 25 MoUs have been signed with the government by industrialists for setting up of large and medium industries in Hindupur and other places in the district. Of the 25 projects, 18 are in the pipeline and are in various stages of implementation.

 

These projects worth more than Rs 30,000 crore investments. Hindupur is emerging as an electronic hub in view of Bengaluru being the electronics city and in future ancillary industries would be established in close proximity to Bengaluru national highway.

 

District Industries Centre (DIC) General Manager G Sudershan Babu told The Hans India that he is happy to preside over the industrialisation of the district at such a time as this as many things are in store for what is known as drought district.

 

He said, nine industrial estates are being operated in the district and 15 more are now in the pipeline. The new estates are likely to trigger in industrial development and generate employment.

 

So far about 43 major industries had been established with a total capital of Rs 5,314 crore.  As one traverses through Kalyandurg, Uravakonda, Kadiri and Ramagiri regions, one can find giant wind fans dotting the villages.

 

More than 100 wind power projects had contributed to industrial boom. The five universities in the district are also fine tuning their courses and syllabus to prepare candidates for industry and promote industry-university interface.
