sonykongara Posted July 17, 2016 Author Share Posted July 17, 2016 వెలుగుచూసిన బౌద్ధారామ ఆనవాళ్లు పెదకళ్ళేపల్లి బౌద్ధ శిలా స్తంభాలు కల్చరల్‌ సెంటర్‌ సర్వేలో ధ్రువీకరణ (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి, విజయవాడ) : కృష్ణా తీర గ్రామాల్లో ది కల్చరల్‌ సెంటర్‌ ఆఫ్‌ విజయవాడ జరిపిన సర్వేలో బౌద్ధ శిథిలాల ఆనవాళ్లు బయల్పడుతున్నాయి. కల్చరల్‌ సెంటర్‌ సీఈవో, ప్రముఖ బౌద్ధ పరిశోధకుడు డాక్టరు ఈమని శివనాగిరెడ్డి, అమరావతి ధ్యానబుద్ధ రూపశిల్పి రేగుళ్లమల్లికార్జునరావు శనివారం జరిపిన సర్వేలో మోపిదేవి మండలం పెదకళ్లేపల్లి దుర్గానాగేశ్వరస్వామి దేవాలయం పరిసరాల్లో క్రీ.శ .ఒకటో శతాబ్దికి చెందిన బౌద్ధఆరామ శిఽథిలాలు వెలుగు చూశాయి. దుర్గానాగేశ్వరస్వామి దేవాలయం ఎడమవైపు ప్రదక్షిణాపఽథంలో బౌద్ధ శిలాస్తంభాలను శివనాగిరెడ్డి గుర్తించారు. శాతవాహన కాలంలో ఘంటసాల బౌద్ధారామానికి సమకాలీనంగా పెదకళ్లేపల్లి ఉండేదని గుర్తించిన ఐదు బౌద్ధశిలా స్తంభాలు, ఒక ప్రాకృత శాసన స్తంభం రుజువు చేస్తున్నాయన్నారు. శాసనస్తంభం ఆసరాగా కర్ణాటక నాగ ప్రతిష్ఠ చేశారని, దీనినే సత్యస్తంభమని పిలుస్తూ వివాద పరిష్కార వేదికగా గ్రామస్తులు వాడుకుంటున్నారని ఆయన తెలిపారు. క్రీ.శ. 1782వ సంవత్సరంలో చల్లపల్లి జమిందారైన రాజా యార్లగడ్డ కోదండరామన్నదేశాయి ఆలయాన్ని పునరుద్ధరించినపుడు బౌద్ధారామం నుంచి సేకరించిన స్తంభాల నంది స్తంభానికి వాడుకున్నారన్నారు. ఆలయం ముందున్న గోపురం 1796లో యార్లగడ్డ నాగేశ్వరనాయుడు నిర్మించినపుడు ఖుతుబ్‌షాహీల కాలపు శాసనాన్ని కూడా గోపురం గోడకు బిగించారని ఆయన వివరించారు. గుర్తించిన బౌద్ధ శిలాస్తంభాలు పల్నాడు సున్నపురాతితో ఎనిమిది పలకలుగా కింద, పైన అర్థ పద్మాలతో చెక్కారు. ఈ స్తంభాలు క్రీ.శ. ఒకటో శతాబ్దినాటి అమరావతి శిల్ప శైలిని పోలి ఉన్నాయన్నారు. బౌద్ధ స్తంభాల పరిరక్షణకు ఆలయ అధికారులు ముందుకు వస్తే కల్చరల్‌ సెంటర్‌ సహకారాన్ని అందిస్తుందని శివనాగిరెడ్డి చెప్పారు. దుర్గానాగేశ్వర ఆలయ పరిసరాలను క్షుణ్ణంగా పరిశీలించిన శివనాగిరెడ్డి బృందం ఆలయంలో క్రీ.శ. 1186, 1236, 1281, 1292, 1782, 1796 సంవత్సరాల్లో వేయించిన పది శాసనాలను గుర్తించారు. వెలనాటి గొంకరాజు, కాకతీయ (చివరి)కుమార ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు, రాచగురువైన సోమి శివార్యుడు, ఖుతుబ్‌షాహీలు, యార్లగడ్డ వంశీయులు, ఆలయ నిర్వహణకు ఆయా కాలాల్లో చేసిన దానాల వివరాలున్నాయనీ, శాసనాలపై కూడా రంగులు వేయటంతో వాటిని గుర్తించటం కష్టంగా మారిందన్నారు. సర్వేలో విజయవాడ బౌద్ధవిహార్‌కు చెందిన మేడసాని శుభాకర్‌ పాల్గొన్నారు. Buddhist pillars carved with half lotus medallions and floral designs, datable to the Ikshwaku times, were used as plinths of the basement of the Jalapeswara Temple built by the Vengi Chalukyas in 8th century AD. Noted archaeologist and CEO of the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada Mr E. Sivanagi Reddy said, “Pondugula village is on the right bank of the Krishna near Dache-palli in Guntur district. Dr M. Ravi Krishna, a Guntur-based literary historian, had explored the surroundings of the Jalapeswara Temple. I too visited the temple with him. For the first time we found Buddhist pillars used as plinths.” The site is under the protection of Archaeolo-gical Society of India. Mr Sivanagi Reddy added that there were several Buddhist sites datable to the same period at Manchikallu, Goli, Rentala, Gurazala Kambampadu, Pedakdamagandla and Modugula within the vicinity of the present spot in Palnadu region, which is known as a Buddhist belt of the Ikshwaku time. “Based on an inscription engraved on the one of the pillars of the temple, the temple was built by an expert sculptor named Kalgarabharana-charya (jewel among sculptors). One of the three pillars is damaged due to exposure to sun and rain,” he added. He said ASI was maintaining the temple well but stressed on the need to preserve the Buddhist pillars too.
