sonykongara Posted April 28, 2015 Author Share Posted April 28, 2015 West Bengal Civic Elections 2015 The ruling party in the state of West Bengal, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) registered a resounding victory in the 2015 state civic polls. The TMC, led by state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, retained its hold over the state's civic Modies with thumping majority bringing embarrassment to its challengers. A whopping 114 of the total 144 wards of the Kolkata Municipality went to the TMC. The CPI-M was the second best with just 15 of them, while the BJP and the Congress settled for 7 and 5 respectively. As far as the rest of the 91 municipal corporations of the state are concerned, the TMC won 70 of them. The CPI-M and the Congress got 5 each, while the BJP had to suffer a complete rout.
