The Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune

Built in 1746, it was the seat of the Peshwa rulers of the Maratha Empire until 1818 when the Peshwas surrendered to the British. Known for its sheer architectural brilliance, this fort has witnessed various spooky occurrences. It is believed that the fort is haunted by the ghost of a young prince who was brutally killed when he was 13 year old. His ghost can be heard shrieking in the middle of the night and is most active on full moon days.

the seventh barn- real story

A wealthy farmer who owned a lot of land built a new barn on his property every time his wife had a baby.

He named each barn after each of his kids and by the time this story takes place, they had six kids and were expecting number seven.

But the farmer’s wife died in childbirth and so did the unborn baby. The farmer went insane with grief and couldn’t tend to his farm. The family had no money and the farm started going under.

They say the farmer, in his madness and despair, took an axe one night and led his children out to the barns, one by one, and murdered them. He buried their Modies in the seventh barn.

It was in the seventh barn that the farmer hung himself. Eventually, as the story goes, all the barns were torn down and the land was sold off. All except for number seven. Nobody would buy the land because of what had happened there. It was abandoned and soon fell into disrepair.

They say if you go to that barn at night you can see the ghost of the farmer hanging from the rafters and swinging in the wind, dwelling on his terrible crime for all eternity.

No-one was ever really sure where the seventh barn was located. It was definitely in Ohio and some say it was the Cranz farm in Cuyahoga Valley or at Top O’ The World in Northampton.

In 1997 a local Ohio teacher claimed that he had found the infamous barn’s real location. He said that none of the barns had ever been torn down; they had simply been incorporated into neighboring farms.

According to the teacher, he pinpointed the location because barns on neighboring properties all had nameplates on their door with the names of children engraved on them. The teacher and his son set out at night to visit the barn, hoping to capture some paranormal activity on video.

The next morning, the teacher’s wife reported her husband and son missing. Police found their abandoned car by the roadside. While searching the area, they entered a barn in a nearby field and found the dead Modies of the teacher and his son hanging from the rafters.

6.-Abandoned-Hospital.-Waverly-Hills-Ken
6.-Waverly_Hills-720x356.jpg

Coughing up blood, over crowded, understaffed, bizarre unethical twisted treatments, “Welcome to Waverly Hills Sanatorium” – a medical facility that was once dedicated to treat patients suffering from Tuberculosis, long before the modern cure was discovered. Without the antibiotics, the hospital provided the only known cure at that time – fresh air and sunshine, and thus the patients spent the majority of their time in the solarium-like porch ways. There were many other unethical ways that were used to treat patients which were downright dangerous and only 5% patients survived the treatment. It is believed that as many as 8000 patient dead Modies were carelessly thrown down a chute and then taken out of the building through an underground tunnel. This method of disposing the Modies was kept confidential by doctor’s orders who wanted patients to be unaware of the quantity of dead Modies. But with the discovery of the antibiotic, that could successfully treat and cure tuberculosis, the sanatorium was closed down. Many believe that the spirits of the patients still roam about the hospital in search of answers. The most famous being of a nurse named Mary Lee who happen to contract the disease. But the story takes a horrific twist when she was found hanging from a light apparatus in Room 502. Some believe she took her life after she found out that she was was pregnant with the child from one of the doctors and unmarried. Tragically her body lay undiscovered for a long time. The picture above is of the ghostly figure captured on camera, who is believed to be of Mary Lee….forever roaming the corridors of the hospital groaning in pai

In 1838, Edgar Allan Poe released the novel The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket. The story was about three sailors who had to consume their friend to survive a shipwreck. Little did Poe know that this story became a reality some years later...

In 1884, three sailors actually became shipwrecked and were forced to eat their friend, who eerily had the name of Richard Parker, the man eaten in the story.
