Kick Challenges Biggest Opening Days On Pre Eid Release

Kick is challenging the biggest openings of all time as after a huge start it has maintained pace pretty well despite pre Eid. Dhoom 3, Ek Tha Tiger and Chennai Express all had opening days in the 30-32 crore nett range and it is not out of the question that Kick can join them which would be simply historic if it happens.

There are late evening and night shows to come and pace could slacken slightly but still collections will not be far off the 30 crore nett mark and anything above 25 crore is extraordinary as the film will have bumper weekdays as a large section of the muslim population will come out on and after Tuesday.

East Punjab is the only circuit which hardly has any Ramadan affect and that circuit may possibly put up an all time record opening day collection. Bihar which has a heavy Muslim population has crazy figures and is also challenging Dhoom 3 opening day figures. Delhi/UP, CI and Rajasthan are 5-10% less. A Muslim dominated Nizam/Andhra may touch 1.75 nett crore which is 15% less than Chennai Express and Dhoom 3 which is remarkable for pre Eid.

The much-anticipated directorial debut by Sajid Nadiadwala,Kick, took a gigantic opening this morning. This Salman Khan–Eid combo is expected to lock day one at a new day 1 record, Rs 27-30 crore or may be more. The film, which also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in vital roles, is expected to enjoy a much bigger weekend. The film released with Khan’s fans more than eager to watch him on the big screen after his outing in January, so its success at the ticket counter is no surprise.

In Delhi-UP, Brijesh Tandon, HK Tandon and Company adds, “The response to the film is spectacular, and despite Ramzan, the film is enjoying a great day at the ticket window. We expect it to earn Rs 5 crore today. The weekend will clock magical numbers.”

In East Punjab, Jaspal Dhingra of Nanaksar Pictures says, “Salman Khan and Eid is a combination that is outstanding for the box office. The film will definitely bring in Rs 2.75 crore today and the weekend will be massive. Let’s not forget the Tuesday Eid holiday, which will be register bumper collections. “

The film has garnered a 90-per cent opening and had impressive advance booking for the evening shows. Khan has returned with a bang and today the film will collect Rs 1.5 crore in Rajasthan.”

Ravi Machchar of Sahyog Films in Nizam says, “Kickopened to a fabulous start during the 9 am show but by noon, the film grew to 100-per cent occupancy. The rest of the shows today are almost house full. We expect this movie to garner Rs 1.5 crore by the end of the day.”

In West Bengal, Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez reveals, “Salman Khan is back with his larger-than-life movies and, withKick, we are expecting business to grow by the night shows. Day one will wrap at Rs 1.3 crore.”
