Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Tuesday launched its latest bus with chemical toilet and pantry. The bus is the first one in the country with these facilities. With a capacity of 41 people and length of 14.5 metre, it is known to be the longest bus ever launched in the country.

Deputy chief minister and transport minister R Ashoka inaugurated the services at the KSRTC’s central office. After the inauguration, Ashoka said that the bus will shuttle between Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Hyderabad and other places on a trial basis for three months. Based on the utilisation of its services, a decision will be taken on extension of services of these buses.

“Already, mutli-facility buses Airavat Bliss and Airavat Superia have got good response from the commuters. KSRTC is planning to introduce more of these buses,” he said.

BMTC had already introduced long and multi-axle buses on Bangalore-Mysore route. The ticket fare is fixed at Rs300 and soon, it will be extended to Bangalore-Chennai route also.
