In 1996 when Obul Reddy along with his three henchmen was in a lodge in Hyderabad with a prostitute, he was attacked by ROC. He was taking a bath. That prostitute was sent away from the room and the henchmen were hacked down. Then they brought Obul Reddy outside from bathroom. His throat was slit almost completely and his genitals were cut down brutally. They escaped from there immediately. (Refer to any news paper like Eenadu, Vaartha, Hindu etc). What makes Obul Reddy different from other factionists in Ananthpur?Well it is the number of rapes that he did in his lifetime.There are many instances of cruelty of Obul against women.Once when he went to a film along with his followers he saw few women and dragged them to the nearby room and raped them along with his followers.Initially the Congress government refused to book a case against them but due to hue and cry in the newspapers a case was booked and the case was dropped soon after. In another incident Obul Reddy forcefully kept a married woman and raped her in his house for one week,Her husband pleaded with Obul Reddy's mother to request her son to leave his wife.But he didn't and after one week the couple left Ananthpur in disgrace,never to return back. There are countless instances of the atrocities of Obul Reddy and his family towards women and general public.
