chanu@ntrfan Posted December 9, 2017 Share Posted December 9, 2017 me choice ye team evarni choose chesukovalo leda chesukuntundo comment cheyandi 1st i will explain rules RETENTIONS 5 players can be secured for each team 3 retention max(before auction) 3 right to match max(at the time of auction) PLAYERS 3 capped players(means players who played for india once.) 2 foriegn players 2 uncapped players. if 3 ret,then 2 rtm if 2 ret,then 3 rtm if 1 ret,then 3 rtm MONEY TOTAL MONEY - 80 CR/TEAM IN RETENTION 3 ret. 1st player get 15cr,2nd 11cr,3rd 7cr 2 ret. 1st player get 12.5 cr,2nd 8.5cr 1 ret. player will get 12.5 cr for example, if mumbai indians want to retain, rohit sharma,bumrah,hardik pandya then the 3rd player will get only 7cr,so if hardik feels if he go into the auction i will get more than 7cr,he can go to the auction.but then RCB bids him for 11 cr,they will get pandya.but mumbai indians then feel they want hardik pandya,they can use their RIGHT TO MATCH(RTM) and get hardik pandya.but they have to pay pandya 11 cr. Dravidict Posted December 9, 2017 Share Posted December 9, 2017 3rd retention makes things interesting. While player gets only 7Cr, it will be a loss of 12Cr to the team's purse. So, unless the managements think their 3rd best player is worth 12Cr, they will be content with just 2 retentions. They'll make use of 3 RTM's. You cannot retain/use RTM on more than 3 capped Indian players. So, RCB will leave Kedar Jadhav out. SRH might use RTM against Dhawan (not Kaul). I think CSK will try to use RTM against Ashwin (local player) and not Jadeja. I don't think KXIP will retain Amla. They might use RTM at best. If I were in their place, I would use RTM against Stoinis instead of Amla. KKR may try to save money by not retaining Gambhir. They may try to use RTM against him. Gambhir is a very good player, but they can get him for much lesser.
