  1. we need another canal from godavari, polavaram rmc is not enough
  2. tough part is between godavari and bollapalle as it includes canal, tunnels and aqueduct. easiest part is between bollapalle and somasila (except 1.7 km tunnel) mostly canal.
  3. ysr completed earth work on canal between polavaram and prakasam barrage. otherwise it could take more time. there are no tunnels between polavaram and vijayawada. at best cbn can complete in 10 years if he fulfill following conditions. 1. provide sufficient funding 2. works given to capable contractors like meil/navayuga 3. make sure no legal cases due to land acquisition and r&r
  4. distance between polavaram to aqueduct on krishna river is 255km. distance between acqueduct and bollapalle reservoir is (317-255) km. canal alignment is different to road alignment. canal distance will be less/more than road distance .
  5. @Raaz@NBK meeku cbn, lokesh meedha vunna confidence cbn, lokesh ke vundademo? manaki tdp, cbn, lokesh meedha entha affection vunnaa reality ni ardham chesukovaali. there will be practical constraints in implementing any project.
  6. yes. canal length varies depends on alignment. tunnel vundi sariggaa chudandi pic total 3 tunnels . one near polavaram another one is between polavaram and acqueduct one is near somasila. tunnel represented by white rectangle
  7. https://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/ap-looking-at-another-riverlinking-project/article17444799.ece ee articles tunnels gurinchi vesaadu.
  8. landpooling is not possible for canals, reservoirs, railway tracks, bullet trains, highways .cbn thought of landpooling for amaravati-anantpur expressway, bhogapuram airport. but farmers opposed landpooling. cbn went for land acquisition for those projects. capital is exception.
  9. tunnel will take more time . tunnels are between polavaram and bollapalle. from veligonda we can understand how challenging is to complete tunnel
  10. it will take 10 to 15 years if cbn remain cm. veligonda, polavaram, or any pending projects started between 2004 to 2006 . they are taking 15 to 20 years to complete. same thing will happen for godavari penna link. it involves 700 km main canal, some branch canals to connect existing canals with main canal. 13+10 km tunnels, aqueduct on krishna river, bollapalle reservior. one advantage of this project work can be done almost 365 days. in case of polavaram we can't construct dam when the river is flooding. tunnel take lot of time depending on kind of soil. r&r also challenging. basically ap people are greedy who are good at speculating prices.they love to go to court to obstruct projects. in the worst case with sufficient funding it can be completed in 20 years. please don't start amaravathi-anantpur expressway untill completing godavari-penna projects, otherwise our greedy people jack up prices which makes it impossible to acquire land for canal and reservoir. i hope tdp remain in power upto 2044 to complete all pending, new irrigation projects.
  11. @sonykongara how to upload images to nfdb. when i try to upload images it failed. do we need any separate permission to upload images

  13. polavaram design history . just for information http://tshivajirao.blogspot.com/2010/11/polavaram-dam-in-indira-gandhis.html
  14. ecrf dam, coffer(lower and upper) dams navayuga ki isthe manchidi .
  15. i have seen in news that ap government has given lands to lepakshi knowledge hub in 2009 . lepakshi knowledge hub is at anantpur karnataka border . it is around 80 km from bangalore airport. is it possible for ap government for to take back those lands and setup itir? ITIR bangalore is not started as the farmers in that area opposed land acquisition . if we can get itir it will transform total anantpur district .
  16. they use boats for navigation in canal not ships .
  17. they are going to build navigation channel after completion of dam at polavaram . it will get completed by 2021.
  18. srisailam & nagarjuna sagar fill ayye chance vunte veellaku problem vundadu kadaa
  19. kvp ramachandra rao asked that whether center will bear r&r of polavaram minister replied that it will bear irrigation component only does irrigation component contains r&r?

  21. evaro mahaanubaavulu cbn ni mislead chestunnaru. lekapothe cbn overthinking tho ilaantivi chestunnado teliyadu. polavaram coffer dam will be ready by 2018 may/june . ie polavaram rmc and lmc will get water through gravity by june 2019. what is the necessity of lifting water from guddigudem (chintalapaudi scheme) to polavaram rmc. cbn wasted 1600 crores on purushothampatnam lift irrigation scheme 3500 cusecs to lift water to polavaram lmc for one season. if he spend same amount on polavaram lmc, by this time polavaram lmc could get completed. basically cbn wants instant gratification .
  22. http://uat.meeseva.gov.in/CMDashBoard/userinterface/irrigation/IrrigationCommonReport.aspx once you open the link press canals button the above link gives details about discharge capacity of different canal system in ap (in cusecs) . nsrmc(nagarjuna sagar right main canal) 11,000 krishna delta eastern main canal 10,600 krishna delta western main canal 8,200
  23. 17500 cusecs at head(polavaram) and gradually reduces to 11500 cusecs at tail (vijayawada) . i read at somewhere in eenadu that cbn asked irrigation officials that "whether it is possible to increase rmc capacity" . they said no
  24. polavaram rmc can carry sufficient water only for krishna delta . we need another canal from polavaram to transfer water to nsp right canal ayacut
  25. edi emainaa godavari range flow mana country lo vere river ki ledu. particularly peak flow. in 1986 floods its around 36 lakh cusecs roughly 300 tmc/day. it's peak flow is more than mightier brahmaputra and ganga rivers. national institute of hydrology roorkee predicted peak flow at polavaram 60 lakh cusecs . ie 500 tmc/day . cwc reduced the estimates to 50 lakh cusecs/day and designed spillway capacity to 50 lakh cusecs
