Wisnton churchill steered his country to spectacular victory along with allied forces in WWII but lost his reelection bid soon after that........George Bush sr enjoyed 90 plus percentage marks for his foreign policy during the successful first gulf war just not too far from his reelection campaign, but got defeated by Clinton soon after..... Point is, no matter how successful the foreign policy may be for the governing head but it wont get big mileage & guarantee victory in elections on that alone.......Elections are pretty much will be fought on domestic issues( barring few emergency war situations like US/FDR faced, where they did not want to change the leader during war).....
