Clear mistake from Argentina Goal keeper - Romero, it was easy ball to stop narrowest of angle to stop ball. He went other side unnecessarily from where no chance to score goal. Clinical finish that was great ball .....great control and wonderful finish. Soccer gods gave Argentina more than couple of great changes to finish the game, which they failed to take. Messi scored 3 of his goals outside box 25-30 Mtrs away with narrowest of gap/angle. Clear Match winners. Not to forget assists & his impact on games despite close marking. Muller is in league of Gary Linekar(ENG) who only scores from 6 yards. Messi's only comparision is with Maradona & Pele. Messi's badluck none of big forward line (Higuain, Aguero, Palacio, Lavezzi) live up to expectations, Higuain 20+ chances in entire tournament 1 Goal. Though Schweinsteiger has good game in stopping some of the moves of Messi, He should have received Red Card clearly. Kroose foul on Zabeletta was clearly Red Card, I don't know who this referee is & from which country/continent. Like in 1990 Referee helped Germany. No. We have to give credit where it due that was great ball from Andre Schurrle and a clinical finish from the tightest of angles. I can't understand why he went right side where there is no net. He was standing at the edge of the poll if you observe carefully from there what is the need to jump on right side. If he has stood there straight forward stop. From Straight angle it might look good goal but side angle it was clearly mistake of Goal keeper. Generally what golie's do is try to make the striker get the tightest of angles to score. If he wouldn't come forward the near post would be completely free. By coming out the striker would have a tight angle for far post and almost having no change at the near post. If you remember Neur did the same thing by closing the angle on messi where his shot went just wide of the far post. But this one was on target. In Football there is clear divide b/n Europe & Americas continent. Maradona was clearly saying last 1M don't place referees of Europe in Knock stages when Europe team is playing. He has asked for Asia/Africa referees from neutral point of view. We will not have that much knowledge what goes inside. Football legends like Maradona knows & faced it before. I have played soccer for some time now, coaches always tell goal keepers that they never allow a goal from their near post that is a cardinal sin for goalie to do. Sabella managed the team beautifully.. Coming to the golden ball topic.. Frankly messi didn't deserve it.. He wasn't even in the top 5 players in this tournament, that is pertaining to olie performances in these WC final games.. Robben, lahm, neuer, mascherano were much much more effective... Doesn't mean u have to score these many goals to be the most effective.. Robben looked the most dangerous player on the pitch motham WC la, no team could completely stop him in any games, messi was closely marked and teams could cut him off but not Robben.. He was the rightful winner.. coming to the Argentina team, mascherano was undoubtedly the best player for them consistently, messi comes clear second there. Argentina always had a extremely potent attacking unit before the tournament started but their defence was the one in question and how well did they defend, mascherano specially rose to the occasion brilliantly.. Messi won the MOM awards but in many of those matches Argentina kept their clean sheets due to the defensive line and specially mascherano.. Messi failed in the knockout stages and couldn't raise him game but mascherano saved them from clear defeat especially against the Dutch,Robben was surely scoring the winner when he made the tackle of the tourney to stop him.. He was brilliant in all games including the semis and finals... Robben was and is still every non biased football lover's choice and almost everyone including messi fans were super shocked with this decision cause of they know deep inside that messi wasn't anywhere near his best in this WC, even messi looked surprised that he got it, online forums are buzzing with this so called Populist decision, but anyway messi is a good guy, one of the best of this generation so parle.. Idi purely unbiased ga cheppa, i have great respect for Messi but even messi fans know it deep down so don't try to unnecessarily argue and decrease messi's stature more, it took a public beating yesterday only after he got the award..
