RAJESH YARLI Posted August 20, 2009 Share Posted August 20, 2009 If sources are to be believed, the banner story published by Eenadu on Thursday about the proposed merger of Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress was a plan hatched by the Congress think-tank to psychologically down PRP president Chiranjeevi. Sources said it all happened in a systematic and pre-planned manner. The Congress leaders made Allagadda MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy to lead a delegation of the PRP legislators to meet Allu Aravind reportedly to give an explanation on the rumours about some defections from the party. Shobha has in fact already made up her mind to jump into the Congress sooner or later. The news was then deliberately leaked to Eenadu reporter looking after the Congress beat. Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s strategy is that if the news appears in Eenadu, there is a possibility that Chiranjeevi might consider it as a plant by the TDP, since the latter is attracting more PRP leaders these days. He wants to create an impression that the PRP leaders are looking towards the TDP, because Chiranjeevi is rather soft towards the Congress. This will definitely demoralise Chiranjeevi and create a sort of chaos in the party in the field level. Ultimately, he would lose confidence in himself and might even agree for a merger with the PRP.
