    Wall Street Says Manchester United Most Valuable Team In World After Adidas Deal

    Shares of Manchester United surged almost 5%yesterday after the soccer team TISI -1.24% announced its new, $130 million a year kit deal with Adidas , which will begin during the 2015-16 season and see the German sportswear maker replace its U.S. rival, Nike.

    Wall Street now affords United an enterprise value of $3.6 billion. Math: market value ($3.05 billion) + long term debt ($613 million) – cash ($57 million). In April, we valued Real Madrid as the world’s most valuable team, worth $3.3 billion, with United second at $3.17 billion.

    Wall Street may be right. Although United will not participate in the lucrative2014-15 Champions League due to its seventh place finish in the 2013-14 Premier League, the team now commands both the richest uniform ans shirt deals in the world (the Manchester City $63 million a year shirt deal with Etihad Arilines is excluded from the table because it also includes stadium naming rights).

    It may be tough for RM to catch Manchester United, at least in terms of how Wall Street perceives their valuations.

    Spain is looking to have La Liga teams negotiate their next television dealcollectively rather than having the individual teams sell their media rights. This will likely eliminate the huge television revenue advantage RM and Barcelona ($182 million each, with number two Atletico Madrid pulling in just $61 million) currently enjoy over their rivals. Also, RM’s shirt with Adidas runs through 2020 and its shirt sponsorship with Emirates Airline is through the 2017-18 season.

    Outside of soccer, the two most valuable teams are MLB’s New York Yankees ($2.5 billion) and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys ($2.3 billion). But both of those valuations are likely too low given they were published prior to Steve Ballmer’s $2 billion offer for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.

    super obvious adi.. Wasn't even their best player in the knockout games, leave alone the tournament's

    Yeah exactly my previous post i said the same, Javier Mascherano was the stand out player having lead a solid defensive performance. Their defense haven't conceded for nearly 450 minutes in World Cup knock out stage. That is some achievement. As far as Messi is concerned he peaked to early in the tournament but couldn't carry on when it really mattered or required.

    Tevez presently with Man city! How was his performance last year! Is he doing rally that bad!

    Tevez presently plays for Juventus. More than his performance it was his relationship with the coach Sabella's at let him out of the squad. At that time it bought lot of criticism for the coach. His bulldog-like approach and “never say die” attitude would cetainly helped the especially in the finals.

    Manchester United have announced the agreement of a 10-year, 750-million-pound ($1.28 billion) contract with adidas -- the biggest deal in sports-licensing history.

     

    This deal again proves Manchester United is biggest club in the world. Here are the no's 

     

    1. Manchester United Adidas £75m 10 years £750m

    This deal is massive considering United and Real Madrid sell 1.4m shirts a year. Add to this £53 million a season from Chevy. That's £128 million a season just from a kit. Insane money i say

     

     After a great season under legendary Moyes, without Europeon football and some great signings like Fellaini another £30m. etc.

     

    This deal couldn't have come at a better time for Manchester United.

    @BOB9: IN NEDERLANDS MATCH ALSO ROMERO WAS ABOUT TO SAME MISTAKE IN 90TH MINUTE, WHEN ROBBEN KICKED FROM SAME ANGLE HE JUMPED TO RIGHT SIDE, BUT MASCHARENO STOPPED ROBBEN SHOT, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD HAVE PENALIZED FOR GOAL KEEPER MISTAKE IN SF ITSELF.

     

    FROM GOAL KEEPER RIGHT THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN SCORE, IF THEY TRY ALSO IT WILL HIT POLL/SIDE NET.

     

    I THINK ROMERO IS INEXPERIENCED GOAL KEEPER. IT WAS CLEARLY HIS MISTAKE.

    I have played soccer for some time now, coaches always tell goal keepers that they never allow a goal from their near post that is a cardinal sin for goalie to do. So goal keepers tendency will always be cover the near post and make a difficult angle at the far post.

    @Bob9: Romero clearly standing on wrong place, he went right side outside ground clearly. He just need to stand straight, easy ball to take. I can't understand why he went right side where there is no net. He was standing at the edge of the poll if you observe carefully from there what is the need to jump on right side. If he has stood there straight forward stop.

     

    From Straight angle it might look good goal but side angle it was clearly mistake of Goal keeper. 

    Generally what golie's do is try to make the striker get the tightest of angles to score. If he wouldn't come forward the near post would be completely free. By coming out the striker would have a tight angle for far post and almost having no change at the near post. If you remember Neur did the same thing by closing the angle on messi where his shot went just wide of the far post. But this one was on target.

    Referee should have clearly shown Kroose & Schweinsteiger Red Cards for their Dangerous tackles above knee of a player. Clear Red Cards.

     

    Though Schweinsteiger has good game in stopping some of the moves of Messi, He should have received Red Card clearly.

     

    Kroose foul on Zabeletta was clearly Red Card, I don't know who this referee is & from which country/continent.

     

    Like in 1990 Referee helped Germany.

    He is very experienced referee from Italy. He refereed for the 2013 champions league final too. He was earlier accused of favouring Messi by Belgium.
