KCR's meeting with industrialists

English writer Chesterton once observed that “The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all.” This seems to be so true of the hushed up meeting that the TRS chief KCR has had with leading industrialists in a leading 5-star hotel in the City today. The meeting according to sources in the TRS is about key issues pertaining to governance, investment friendliness and policy stability in the state post December 31. Did not KCR think that these are issues that are vital not just for a few mega-industrialists but for a whole lot of small and medium entrepreneurs as well. Wouldn't a forum like FICCI (like the one addressed by Rosaiah earlier this month) be a more appropriate place to discuss this rather than a star hotel. But then this is India and here the rich are increasingly objecting to being governed in any forum or manner! Even the likes of Prof Kodandram who speak of consensus and, transparency at the drop of a hat are curiously silent on these meetings.
