The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today demanded the Rosaiah Government in Andhra Pradesh to institute a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into alleged ''disproportionate assets'' of State Government's Political Advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao.

Addressing a press conference here, Party Scheduled Castes Wing president Varla Ramaiah alleged Mr Rao had ''amassed'' wealth disproportionate to known sources of income in the last five years. He claimed the TDP had enough evidence to prove corruption charges against Mr Rao, a close friend of then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Turning down suggestions to move the court if it had evidence, the TDP leader said ''we will go to the people's court if the government did not come forward to institute a judicial probe.'' TDP MLC Y Babu Rajendra Prasad, who was also present, wanted the government to come out with a ''white paper'' on any useful suggestions made by Mr Rao while being in the Committee on Public Safety and Security.
