@Bob9: Romero clearly standing on wrong place, he went right side outside ground clearly. He just need to stand straight, easy ball to take. I can't understand why he went right side where there is no net. He was standing at the edge of the poll if you observe carefully from there what is the need to jump on right side. If he has stood there straight forward stop.
From Straight angle it might look good goal but side angle it was clearly mistake of Goal keeper.
Generally what golie's do is try to make the striker get the tightest of angles to score. If he wouldn't come forward the near post would be completely free. By coming out the striker would have a tight angle for far post and almost having no change at the near post. If you remember Neur did the same thing by closing the angle on messi where his shot went just wide of the far post. But this one was on target.

Referee should have clearly shown Kroose & Schweinsteiger Red Cards for their Dangerous tackles above knee of a player. Clear Red Cards.
Though Schweinsteiger has good game in stopping some of the moves of Messi, He should have received Red Card clearly.
Kroose foul on Zabeletta was clearly Red Card, I don't know who this referee is & from which country/continent.
Like in 1990 Referee helped Germany.
He is very experienced referee from Italy. He refereed for the 2013 champions league final too. He was earlier accused of favouring Messi by Belgium.

Any other goal keeper would have stopped that Goetze shot easily, straight forward kick from narrow angle & perfect height for goal keepers,Goal keeper jumped out of pitch on right side. Just observe replays what a silly mistake from inexperience goal keeper Romero.
No. We have to give credit where it due that was great ball from Andre Schurrle and a clinical finish from the tightest of angles. Expect may be Neur and couple other not many people could have stopped. That was worthy goal to win a Final.

Clear mistake from Argentina Goal keeper - Romero, it was easy ball to stop narrowest of angle to stop ball. He went other side unnecessarily from where no chance to score goal.
Clinical finish that was great ball .....great control and wonderful finish. Soccer gods gave Argentina more than couple of great changes to finish the game, which they failed to take. But it will be painful for them so near and yet so far.

yeah that was the problem, he peaked to early in the tournament...but couldn't contribute when it really mattered. He had couple of glorious to score where u would have bet ur money for him too score those. But he didn't. another interesting fact was he had only 16 touches whole of 1st half which unlike him. He is one of the best players no doubt but i think ...this tournament they were better players than him. and again Argentina had relatively easier group when compared to other semi finalists.

Argentina scored 2 goals in 450minutes of post-group with him being the focal point of the attack - that's definitely not carrying the team to the final. It's more like Argentina defense that carried them holding off good attacking teams and not conceding till the final minutes of Extra time against Germany.

All due respect to Messi.....Mascherano was the best player for Argentina he lead defense and made several last ditch tackles ...coming into the World cup Argentina had always had a good attack up front which they banked on. But it was their defense who carried them through and Mascherano was fantastic all through the tournament. For me Messi peaked too early in tournament.

Now United have 3 prime targets ....1) Angel Di Maria, Real Madrid2) Arturo Vidal, Juventus3) Mats Hummels, Borussia DortmundI hope they pull atleast 2 if not 3. Which will make up for completely new look squad for Van Gaal. And also they have to sell some average players like Young, Nani etc who have not been performing consistently. United need these changes considering the rival clubs growth and their transfer business.

I think Germans missed Marco Reus in this final big time one the best germans have produced of late. You have feel for him missing out on World cup due to injury he suffered three weeks before event started. Bad luck Marco Rues.
