Their mode of operation is a big puzzle for management experts. Nobody can visualize Mumbai city without Dabbawalas. They have 125 year old history. They became a part of Mumbai lifestyle. The Dabbawala system started in British period. The British officials could not eat the Indian food served in the canteens. So they appointed some persons to bring food from their homes.
