It's still tough to ascertain what kind of impact Chiranjeevi will have on Andhra Pradesh politics, but what looks certain is that this megastar's exit from film world might not have any significant impact on the economics of India's second biggest film industry.

Chiranjeevi is undoubtedly the biggest star after NTR in Andhra Pradesh. In a span of 30-year film career, Chiranjeevi acted in 144 films. Chiranjeevi charges close to eight crore rupees as remuneration, making him one of the costliest film star in South. But his box-office fortunes have been ordinary in the last four years. In fact his last film four films failed to impress the audience.

Tamma Reddy Bhardwaja, President, AP Film Producers Council said, " In the last five years he did just six films. So, there is no point in talking about impact. Some of his films did not fare well in recent times."

One of the main reasons for Chiranjeevi throwing his hat into political arena is because his film career isn't going great, with young heroes like Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR and Prabhas giving him a run for money.

Despite his sliding film career, Chiranjeevi continues to command strong openings. His fans and movie buffs will surely miss Chiru's dance steps and dialogues.
