He chose to remake 'Sivakasi' produced by AM Ratnam in Tamil. Earlier, it was said that Pawan Kalyan would do that film, after that the names of Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Young Rebel Star Prabhas were made rounds. However, none of them gave nod to the film due to some unavoidable circumstances. It is now reliably learnt that Kalyanram had accepted to do the film and finalised the deal by signing the dotted line. The film has sentiment within brothers, between brother and sister, besides mother and son in its backdrop, in addition to action. It is further learnt that Vedika, the heroine of Muni, was asked for dates to play heroine in this film. Music director Srikanth Deva, who gave music to the original version, had agreed to work for the Telugu remake also.
