Story

A substandard treat, the story begins with two childhood friends Bujji (Prabhas) and Chitti (Trisha) in Vizag who just cannot live without each other. However, a small incident makes Bujji to promise Chitti that he will not talk to her for twelve years (????) and after that they would get married. Bujji runs away from home to Chennai and grows up to be a big ruffian and an ardent fan of superstar Rajinikanth. Twelve years pass by and Bujji comes to Vizag for Chitti only to discover that their family has moved to Hyderabad. Chitti's uncle Venkat Rao ('Ahuti' Prasad) becomes a real estate man and Chitti goes to London for her education. However, she also waits for the twelve years and comes back to India to meet up with Bujji. Meanwhile, Bujji goes to jail for a silly incident and meets up with the sons of Bachi Reddy (Kota) who promise him 1 crore if he kills Sivanna (Mohan Babu), the dreaded don and their rival. Meanwhile, Sivanna happens to be the own brother of Chitti and after a few twist of events Bujji realizes this. What happens after that? Does Chitti recognize Bujji? What happens to Bujji's contract with Bachi Reddy? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation

An absolutely painful treatment, the director has come out with a spineless subject and has presented it in the most horrible manner. The narration of the plot was childish and the dialogues were useless, camerawork was terrible with flickering frames which really cause strain to the eyes. The script was senseless and there is no rhythm or continuity throughout the whole story. The introduction of the lead cast was pale and lacked any interest. Dance choreography was rubbish, editing was pathetic. The music had nothing great to offer barring one number and the rest of it was absolutely amateur. Coming to the cast, Prabhas did his best to save the film with his acting but his role was so weak that he could not offer much to the film, however he has evolved as an actor better than before but he still needs to work on his dance. Trisha was the regular but her make up was bad, no one knows why Sanjana had to be brought in all the way from Kannada industry for a nothing role. Mohan Babu who has the ability to change the fate of a movie with his performance was very mild and did his role mechanically. Kota is grossly underutilized. The comedy of Ali and Sunil was not convincing at all. Action sequences were good but the depiction of the wiring was too obvious.

Conclusion

The name 'Crazy director' for Puri Jagannath has come true with this film as no one would have seen such a crazier stuff before from him. The entire length of the movie is haphazard, there is no depth or focus on one issue be it the first half or the second half. The film was going on as though it had no connection with the audience. There were lot of yawns and frustrated groans inside the theatre when the movie was on. This was a crucial movie for Prabhas and he should have ensured things shaped up well but it will be very hard for the movie to survive. The only hope is the glamour appeal of Prabhas and Trisha that can save the film from a shameful result.
