Michael Madana Kamaraju

Starring: Srikanth, sunil, Prabhu Deva, Charmy, Asha Saini and others

Direction: Nidhi Prasad

Music: Chakry

Release Date: 18/04/2008

The film boasts of several comedians from Brahmanandam, Sunil, Ali, Venu Madhav, Kovai Sarala, Kondavalasa etc. The film could have been a role roaster comic entertainer but director Nidhi Prasad flounders along the way and the film ends up as just another routine comedy flick.

Story:

Madan (Srikanth) and Kamaraju (Sunil) are cousins. Their parents live in the US. Madan runs an ad agency. Kamaraju is crazy about girls and is seen all the time running after them. Madan on the other hand does not believe in things like love and romance and says that it is just physical attraction to fulfill desires.

The two heroes go to Goa. Madan meets Charmy, a dress designer, there. Madan is a judge at a dress design competition and Charmy’s designs win the first prize. Madan and charmy become good friends and he gives her a job in his ad agency s creative head.

Kamaraju falls for a beauty, Ash Saini in Goa and he brings her back with him to Hyderabad. James (Brahmanandam) is after Madan with a gun in hand. He wants to kill Madan as he has run away with his wife.

Madan starts loving Charmy bit Kamaraju doesn’t know this and plays a trick on him. He gets a wedding card printed with the photos of Charmy and Michael (Prabhu Deva). Madan thinks this to be true and is dejected. He then comes across Michael at a pub and makes a del with him. Madan offers Michael five lakhs so that he will cut off his engagement with Charmy.

But Michael is a trickster. He learns that Charmy is the daughter of a rich man, Nagababu. So Michael hatched a plan to marry Charmy and lay his hands on her 100 crore property.

The rest of the story is how Madan and Kamaraju manage to outwit Michael and expose him. In the end, Madan manages to win the love of Charmy.

Performance:

Srikanth as the owner of an ad agency is cool. Charmy is at her glamorous best once again. She also gets to shake her legs for almost all the songs in the film. Sunil is okay but he does not come up with a great performance. His role is quite lengthy, but it has not been etched properly.

Prabhu Deva in his cameo role as Michael also comes up with an impressive performance. He also shows his legendary dancing skills in a couple of songs.  Brahmanandam in a James Bond type of role with gun in hand creates some suspense as well as laughs. Kovai Sarala also raises some laughter with her typical comedy.

Kota as a film crazy studio owner also does a neat job. The rest of the cast like Ali, Abhinayasri, Kondavalasa, Venu Madhav, Mallikarjun Rao are adequate in their roles.

The music by Chakry is just average. Acouple songs – ‘Chitaru Kommana mithai Potlam Istaavaa… ‘and “Pamparapanaso… Mabbullo Munchina Glaso…” are set to fast beats.

Brahmanandam cracks some good jokes. One joke goes like this - “ Sobhanam gadilonchi Help! Help! ani arava koodadau. Evari sobhanam valle chesukovali”.

The director in his bid to make the film as a laughter riot has introduces too many characters and as a result, he loses the grip over the film half way through. The audience is confused with too many characters moving in and out. Michael Madan Kamaraju ends up as another mediocre film.
