harian Posted October 16, 2011 Share Posted October 16, 2011 Citing pressure from the parents demanding re-opening of schools, the Telangana Teachers Joint Action Committee on Sunday decided to call off their agitation. Talking to media persons, the Teachers JAC members said that they have decided to call off their 34 days agitation in the interests of students and to protect their academic year. However, the Teachers JAC leaders said that they would continue their agitation for statehood by attending to their duties. The JAC leaders said that the teachers would attend classes and finish the syllabus on time to ensure that the academic year is not lost. However, the teachers would not sign in the attendance register and not take their salaries until the government invite them for talks, they said.
