LeBron James nears another NBA playoff record. Another game, another record for LeBron James. Sunday’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat will be the 260th of James’ playoff career, lifting him into sole possession of first place on the league’s postseason appearances list. James is in his 17th season. After missing the playoffs in his first two seasons, he has reached the postseason 14 times in 15 years. His teams in Cleveland, Miami and now Los Angeles have gone 14-0 in first-round series with James on the roster, 11-3 in second-round series and 10-1 in the conference-final round. He had been tied with Derek Fisher for the top spot on the playoff list with 259. To put James’ postseason longevity into perspective, consider that 260 games is the equivalent of 3.2 full regular seasons. And out of the 4,489 players to have appeared in an NBA regular-season contest, 63% did not (or in the case of active players, have not) gotten into 260 games. That means James’ postseason career alone has included more games than most NBA players’ entire careers. Game 6 of the finals also would be the 55th NBA Finals game of James’ career, tying him with Jerry West for fourth-most in league history. Bill Russell played in 70, Sam Jones in 64 and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 56.

NBA Finals 2020: Game 5 loss exploited greatest Los Angeles Lakers flaws. All of the Lakers concerns heading into this season and playoffs came to the forefront in their Game 5 loss. With a chance to close out the series and win the NBA title, we saw all of their flaws that have been masked for the majority of this postseason, highlighted by poor 3-point shooting and the lack of a third star. How quickly things can change. Just one week ago, I wrote about how it's time to give the Los Angeles Lakers role players the credit they deserve. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris were shooting the lights out, Rajon Rondo had taken playoff form, Dwight Howard played himself into the starting lineup with quality minutes and Alex Caruso stepped up as the team's top perimeter defender (after LeBron James, of course). Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green were struggling with consistency, but they still had their moments. The role players around James and Anthony Davis had been under fire all season long but were stringing together their best play at the right time and had given their two superstars enough support to own a 14-3 record in the playoffs, two wins away from an NBA title. There have been three games since writing that piece, and in Game 5, the Lakers saw all of that come crashing down. If someone had told you prior to Game 5 that LeBron would finish with 40 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists with a chance to close things out and win the NBA championship, you'd assume Los Angeles won, right? Add to it that Davis went for 28 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks, and you'd almost certainly believe there was no way the Lakers could lose that game. Well, that's exactly what happened. While the Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson deserve a ton of credit for their gutsy performances to keep their team's title hopes alive, you can't help but feel as though the Lakers' supporting cast let that one slip away. There's two obvious starting points: Green's missed 3-pointer and Morris' turnover. James delivered a pass to an open Green with a chance to win the championship, and he clanked it off the rim. Morris made a great play to chase down the offensive rebound but immediately panicked, missing several open teammates before sailing a pass well over Davis' head to decide the outcome of the game. And while those are the two plays that stand out from the loss, there's much more to it than that. Morris missed both of his 3-point attempts, going scoreless for the game with just one rebound in 24 minutes of play. Starting centre Howard was transparent in 15 minutes, scoring just two points to go with two rebounds and zero blocked shots. He also committed a costly flagrant foul on Butler in the third quarter, which resulted in a six-point possession for the Heat. On the wing, Caldwell-Pope was as solid as he's been all postseason, scoring 16 points on 3-for-8 shooting from 3, but he did miss three consecutive go-ahead 3s in the final three minutes of the game. Kuzma's inconsistency on the offensive end continued, scoring just seven points on 3-for-10 shooting from the field and 0-for-4 from 3 with a team-worst minus-17 plus/minus. It was his second straight game failing to reach double figures and third of five games in The Finals. He also had a bad foul on an and-one 3-pointer for Robinson that helped Miami build its lead to six points just before the end of the third quarter. At guard, Rondo had one of his most ineffective games of the entire playoffs, scoring just four points on 1-for-7 shooting from the field. He did have five rebounds, five assists and two steals, but his impact wasn't felt the way it typically has been this postseason, as evidence of Lakers head coach Frank Vogel leaving him on the bench to close the game when he's usually on the floor in crunchtime. As for Caruso, he had just three points, three boards and three assists to go with three turnovers, including an ill-advised charge at the end of the third quarter and a crucial giveaway down the stretch of the fourth quarter. The Lakers' role players are far from perfect but had played well enough as a unit to overcome mistakes and inconsistencies to get help the team to where they are now. Same here bro. For me, LBJ is an emotion same as NBK. Just watched the highlights. Lakers look worn out.Young players like green,Kuzma should step up. LBJ can't take all the weight.Hope AD will be 100% in game 6.If he is not, heat might double team LBJ. If heat wins game 6, my money on Heat to win it all.

AD is not 100%today. Someone other than LBJ and AD needs to have a 20-25 points game.

Have to give credit for Heats defense. Up by a point and possession in their favor with 42 seconds to play,lakers failed to score a point. Lakers have to come up with a different game plan. Only team to come back from 1-3 down in the NBA finals history is the 2016 cavaliers. Hope LBJ won't be on the wrong side this time.

Bad miss by green. LBJ's 40 point and AD's 28 point game not enough for heat resistance. Lakers have to win game 6.They can't risk game 7 with this team.

Again, it comes down to who makes Clutch time plays.

Too much HEAT for lakers

Bam Adebayo cleared for game 4. My money on Heat today. Let's see how LBJ and AD respond to their subpar performance in game 3.

Pressure is all on LAL. Heat has nothing to loose.They accomplished more than predicted. Down 2-0 and two starters injured, they played all theirs hearts out. Taking the opponent easy will give shocking results.Remeber the 2011 finals with big 3 in south beach and leading 2-1 in the series against Mavericks.Heat was up by 15 in 2nd quarter of game 4.Everyone predicted its over but,mavericks bounced back and won that game and championship in 6 games.

JINX. No TO in first 2 games. Came back from 12 down to lead by 2 with 10 mins left.Lost it from there.Last 10 mins of the game heat out scored 26-13.

What a performance by Jimmy Butler. Triple double. Heat are back in the series. Adebayo and dragic may be back for Game 4 . Have to see how the Lakers respond. Bad day for AD.Hope he bounce back. Assist short of TD for LBJ.Win matters at the end. Series will be interesting if heat can make it 2-2.

Long time LBJ fan.But, LAL is missing a piece to take it all. If it's not for AD's buzzer beater in game 2, Denver would be up by 2-1. I predict this series to go to 7 games and Denver winning 4-3. I am happy to be wrong.
