Brother,  BONG, MALLU, GULTE are regularly used in our offices...just casually...  though they might have started as offensive, ee rojullo it has become so normal.  I call my Bengali friends BONGs and they are absolutely ok :).   

Only derogatory I find is CHINKY,  they are our fellow Indian brothers and not chinese.
