Dozens killed as Pakistani army, fighters clash near Afghan border

Pakistan Taliban claims responsibility for attack on military convoy, leading to a deadly gunfight.

Eleven military personnel have been killed in a gunfight with armed fighters in the country’s northwest, according to the Pakistani army.

The gun battle erupted early on Wednesday during an intelligence operation in the Orakzai district near the Afghan border, the army said in a news release.

15 Pak Soldiers Killed As Taliban Hits Back Hard After Kabul Airstrikes.

Fifteen Pakistani soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan's Helmand province after the Taliban forces retaliated to Pakistani airstrikes in Afghan territory, including the capital Kabul.

Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, spokesperson for the Helmand provincial government, told the media that 15 Pakistani soldiers were killed during last night's retaliatory operations by Afghan forces near the Durand Line in Bahrampur district. He said Afghan forces also captured three Pakistani military outposts during this operation and seized weapons and ammunition.

Trump  met with Syria's interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa, a former jihadist who until recently had a $10 million U.S. bounty.  Under al-Shara'a's leadership, al-Nusra Front and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham perpetrated a series of war crimes, suicide bombings, forced conversions, ethnic cleansing and sectarian massacres against Syria's Christian, Alawite, Shia and Druze minorities.
